The 2015 New Zealand Grand Prix event for open wheel racing cars was held at Manfeild Autocourse near Feilding on 15 February 2015. It was the sixtieth New Zealand Grand Prix and was open to Toyota Racing Series cars. The event was also the third race of the fifth round of the 2015 Toyota Racing Series, the final race of the series.
Twenty Tatuus-Toyota cars started the race which was won by 16-year-old Canadian Lance Stroll who became the who became the third teenager in as many years to claim the Grand Prix after Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy.
The race was dominated by the M2 Competition outfit, with Arjun Maini taking pole position, Brandon Maïsano the fastest lap and locked out the podium with Stroll winning, Charlie Eastwood second and Maisano third.

Scott Ronald Dixon is a professional racing driver from New Zealand, who competes in the NTT IndyCar Series for Chip Ganassi Racing. Dixon has won the IndyCar championship six times: in 2003, 2008, 2013, 2015, 2018 and 2020. He also won the 92nd Indianapolis 500 in 2008 from pole position. In the 2022 Indianapolis 500, he passed Al Unser (644) for most laps led all-time in the race. With 51 wins, Dixon is the third most successful driver in American Championship Cars history, and his 51 wins leads all active drivers in the current IndyCar Series. He is also a three-time overall winner and one-time class winner at the 24 Hours of Daytona. Alongside his six series' titles, Dixon won at least one race for seventeen consecutive seasons between 2005 and 2021, and now has the record of winning a race in 19 seasons, breaking A.J Foyt's record of 18. He is the only driver to win the IndyCar championship in his inaugural year in the series.

Lance Strulovitch, better known as Lance Stroll, is a Canadian-Belgian racing driver competing under the Canadian flag in Formula One. He drives for Aston Martin since 2021, having previously driven for Williams and Racing Point. He was Italian F4 champion in 2014, Toyota Racing Series champion in 2015, and 2016 FIA European Formula 3 champion. He was part of the Ferrari Driver Academy from 2010 to 2015. He achieved his first podium finish, a 3rd place, at the 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, becoming the second-youngest driver to finish an F1 race on the podium and the youngest to do so during his rookie season. At the 2020 Turkish Grand Prix, Stroll took his first pole position in Formula One. Stroll also competed in endurance racing, taking part in the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2016 and 2018.

Lando Norris is a British-Belgian racing driver currently competing in Formula One with McLaren, racing under the British flag. He won the MSA Formula championship in 2015, and the Toyota Racing Series, Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup in 2016. He also received the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award that year. He subsequently won the 2017 FIA Formula 3 European Championship. He was a member of the McLaren Young Driver Programme.

The race was won by Shane van Gisbergen, who started his race from the pit-lane as a result of a fire-extinguisher issue pre-race.
