The 2016 Federation Cup also known as Walton Federation Cup due to the sponsorship from Walton was the 28th edition of the tournament. A total of 12 teams competed in this tournament. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club was the winner of previous edition of the tournament.
The tournament kicked off on 10 June 2016 with the match between Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. [1]
Dhaka Abahani lifted the title of Federation Cup with a 1–0 victory over Sheikh Moni Arambagh KS at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on 26 June 2016. [2]

Bangladesh Football Federation is the governing body that administrates the sport of association football in Bangladesh. It is in charge of running the country's men's and women's national teams, as well as the Bangladesh Premier League and various other competitions and tournaments. The BFF was one of founding members of the South Asian Football Federation. It is based at BFF Bhaban, in the Motijheel Thana of the country's capital, Dhaka.
The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is the top tier of the Bangladeshi association football league pyramid. It is run directly by the Professional Football League Committee of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF). Dhaka Derby is one of the most popular matches in the league. The league is the successor of National Football Championship, which existed from 2000 to 2006.
Federation Cup, previously called in full Bangladesh Federation Cup, is Bangladesh's premier cup competition in men's association football. The competition started in 1980 and is run by the Bangladesh Football Federation which is responsible for all types of competitive matches in the country. The teams from the country's premier league and other clubs compete in the tournament while occasionally Indian sides were invited in the past. Most of the matches are played in the country's main football venue Bangabandhu National Stadium. The winner of the tournament earn the slot of playing qualifying round of AFC Cup.
The 2009 South Asian Football Federation Championship was hosted by Bangladesh from 4 to 13 December 2009. Bangladesh was awarded to host the tournament after the withdrawal of original hosts India.
Chittagong Abahani Limited, also known as Chattogram Abahani, is a sports club based on Chittagong, Bangladesh. A wing of Abahani Limited was established at Chittagong in 1980 known as Chittagong Abahani. Though it is an wing of Abahani Limited, Chittagong Abahani has its own directorial board & club structure. It is considered as the most successful football club from Chittagong. It is currently a team of Bangladesh Premier League.

Launched in 1996, it was the 4th time the tournament had been held. Eight teams from Asian Football Confederation participated in this edition.

The 2017 Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup, also known as Sheikh Kamal Gold Cup 2017, was the 2nd edition of Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup, an international club football tournament hosted by the Chittagong Abahani in association with the Bangladesh Football Federation. The tournament took place at the M. A. Aziz Stadium from 18 February 2017 in the port city of Chittagong. T.C. Sports Club of Maldives became champion after beating FC Pocheon on Penalty shoot-out.

The 2017–18 Independence Cup was the 9th edition of the Independence Cup association football tournament in Bangladesh. It was known as the Walton Independence Cup 2017–18 for sponsorship reasons.
The 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League is the 11th season of the Bangladesh Premier League since its establishment in 2007. A total of 13 football clubs will compete in the league. Dhaka Abahani are the defending champions. Bashundhara Kings and NoFeL Sporting Club entered as the promoted teams from the 2017 Bangladesh Championship League. The league was delayed and was rescheduled to start from 18 January 2019. Six venues will host 2019 Bangladesh Premier League. 2 clubs will be relegated to Bangladesh Championship League.

Dhaka Abahani was the winner of previous edition of the tournament. The winner earned a slot in the group stage of the 2019 AFC Cup.

Thirteen participants competed in the tournament.
The 2019 Bangamata U–19 Women's Gold Cup was the 1st edition of Bangamata U-19 Women's International Gold Cup, an annual international women's youth football tournament hosted by Bangladesh Football Federation.The main goal of this tournament to make strong pipeline of Bangladesh women's national football team in future. After the 4th edition of this tournament it will be National women's team tournament instead of Bangladesh women's national under-20 football team.
The 2019 BFF U-18 Football Tournament, It was the 3rd edition of BFF U-18 Football Tournament, a youth club football tournament in Bangladesh hosted by the Bangladesh Football Federation.The main goal of this tournament to produce future football players for Bangladesh national football team and clubs.
The 2020 Bangabandhu Gold Cup or simply 2020 Bangabandhu Cup was an international football tournament organized and hosted by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) as a name of tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This was the 6th edition of the tournament, with six teams competing from 15 to 25 January 2020.
The 2019–20 Federation Cup also known as 2019–20 TVS Federation Cup was 31st edition of the tournament, the main domestic annual club football competition in Bangladesh organized by Bangladesh Football Federation. The 13 participants will compete for the tournament. The winner of the tournament will earn the slot of playing preliminary round of 2021 AFC Cup.
