<span class="mw-page-title-main">Qabala District</span> District of Azerbaijan

Qabala District is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the north of the country and belongs to the Shaki-Zagatala Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Oghuz, Shaki, Agdash, Goychay, Ismayilli, Quba, Qusar, and the Russian Republic of Dagestan. Its capital and largest city is Qabala. As of 2020, the district had a population of 107,800.

Khojavend District is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the west of the country and belongs to the Karabakh Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Lachin, Shusha, Khojaly, Aghdam, Aghjabadi, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, and Qubadli. Its capital and largest city is Khojavend, however since the city is under Russian peacekeeping control, the current de facto capital is the town of Hadrut. As of 2020, the district had a nominal population of 44,100.

The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, also known as AZMOC, is an independent public organization, with a status of a legal entity, which passed registration in the Ministry of Justice of the Azerbaijani Republic. The charter of the organization is recognized by the International Olympic Committee, in 1993. The organization represents the country at the international Olympic Games. It acts on the basis of the Olympic Charter and also the Law of the Azerbaijani Republic about enterprises and public organizations. Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, is the president of the committee since 1997.

Azerbaijan State News Agency is the official news agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan. From November 2022, Vugar Aliyev served as chairman of the board.

The Khojaly massacre was the mass killing of at least 161 Azerbaijani civilians by Armenian forces and the 366th CIS regiment in the town of Khojaly on 25 February 1992. It has been recognized and commemorated by acts adopted in fifteen countries and in twenty-three U.S. states.

Ilhama Mazahir gyzy Guliyeva was an Azerbaijani celebrity, actress and singer of Azerbaijani folk and classical music. Throughout active musical-stage career, Ilhama Guliyeva gained popular success in her respective genre of music and received such major state-level honors as Honored Artist of Azerbaijani SSR in 1982, People's Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 1998 and People's Artist of the Republic of Dagestan in 2007.

Ilham Ismayil oghlu Mehdiyev is an Azerbaijani military officer, lieutenant general, and the deputy head of the Azerbaijani State Border Service (SBS). He was previously also the head of the Azerbaijani Coast Guard branch of the State Border Service (SBS). Mehdiyev commanded the Azerbaijani SBS during the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war and received the title of the Hero of the Patriotic War.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kanan Seyidov</span> Azerbaijani military officer

Kanan Alihuseyn oglu Seyidov is an Azerbaijani military officer. He is a major general of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and deputy commander of the Special Forces. As an officer of the Azerbaijani special forces, he participated in the 2016 Nagorno–Karabakh clashes and the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, and was one of the Azerbaijani commanders during the 2020 battle of Shusha. He had received the title of the Hero of the Patriotic War.
