The tournament was held in a triple-knockout format. The tournament, started in 1998 as part of the World Curling Tour and was held until 2011. Curlers from Manitoba dominated the event. The event was cancelled in 2012.

After the 2014–15 season, the event was discontinued until it returned for the 2019–20 season under the new name, The Good Times Bonspiel.

The 2015 World Financial Group Continental Cup of Curling was held from January 8 to 11 at the Markin MacPhail Centre International Arena in Calgary, Alberta. The Continental Cup featured team events, mixed doubles events, singles competitions, and skins competitions, and the brunt of the points were in the skins competitions. TSN broadcast the event, as it has in previous years.

The 2015 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held January 19 to 25 at the Penetanguishene Curling Club in Penetanguishene, Ontario. The winning Julie Hastings team represented Ontario at the 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

The 2015 Ontario Tankard, the Southern Ontario men's provincial curling championship, was held from February 2 to 8 at the Dorchester Flight Exec Centre in Dorchester, Ontario. The winning Mark Kean rink represented Ontario at the 2015 Tim Hortons Brier in Calgary, Alberta.

The 2017 Yukon Men's Curling Championship was held January 12 to 15 at the Whitehorse Curling Club in Whitehorse, Yukon. The winning Jon Solberg team represented the Yukon at the 2017 Tim Hortons Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship.
