World Karate Federation International governing body of sport karate

The World Karate Federation (WKF) is the largest international governing body of sport karate with 198 member countries. It was formed in 1990, is the only karate organization recognised by the International Olympic Committee and has more than ten million members. The WKF organizes the Junior and Senior Karate World Championships, which are each held every other year. The President of the WKF is Antonio Espinos, and the headquarters are located in Madrid, Spain. All the styles are officially recognised by the WKF.

European Karate Federation The governing body of sport karate

The European Karate Federation (EKF) is the governing body of competitive karate in more than 50 countries across Europe. The EKF's stated goal is to promote, organize, regulate, and popularize the sport of karate. It is one of the five continental federations recognized by the World Karate Federation. Since 1966, it has organized the European Karate Championships. Additionally, it now organizes Junior, Cadet, and Under-21 Championships(European Juniors Karate Championships).

Gülderen Çelik is a Turkish karateka competing in the kumite –53 kg division. The 1.80 m (5.9 ft) tall athlete is member of the Sarıyer Belediyespor in Istanbul. Her trainer is Turan Yılmaz.

The European Karate Championships are organised by the European Karate Federation each year.

The 2006 World Karate Championships are the 18th edition of the World Karate Championships, and were held in Tampere, Finland from October 12 to October 15, 2006.

2004 World Karate Championships Karate competition

The 2004 World Karate Championships are the 17th edition of the World Karate Championships, and were held in Monterrey, Mexico from November 18 to November 21, 2004.

The 2015 European Karate Championships, the 50th edition, was held at Istanbul in Turkey from 19 to 22 March, 2015. A total of 482 competitors from 47 countries participated at the event.

The 2016 European Karate Championships, the 51st edition, was held at Montpellier in France from 5 to 8 May 2016. A total of 508 competitors from 46 countries participated at the event.

2016 World Karate Championships Karate competitions

The 2016 World Karate Championships were the 23rd edition of the World Karate Championships, and were held in Linz, Austria from October 25 to October 30, 2016.

The 2017 European Karate Championships, the 52nd edition, was held in İzmit, Turkey from 4 to 7 May 2017. A total of 490 competitors from 43 countries participated at the event.

Marko Antić is a Serbian karate athlete competing in kumite -60 kg division.

Eleni Chatziliadou is a Greek karateka won the gold medal in the women's kumite +68 kg event at the 2018 World Karate Championships held in Madrid, Spain. In the same year, she also won a silver medal at the 2018 Mediterranean Games and at 2018 European Karate Championships. In 2019, she won the silver medal in the women's kumite +68 kg event at the 2019 European Games held in Minsk, Belarus. She took the fifth place in the women's kumite +68 kg event at the 2021 Karate 1 Premier League in Lisbon, Portugal. As an athlete member of Karate Club Bushido Bonn, Bonn, represented the Germany, she won the bronze medal at the 2017 Karate1 Premier League held in Rotterdam. She won the bronze medal at the 2021 European Karate Championships held in Poreč, Croatia. Due she had some injury problems and missed a series of events, she did not qualified in being in the athletes of Greece at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

2018 World Karate Championships Karate competition

The 2018 World Karate Championships were the 24th edition of the World Karate Championships, and were held in Madrid, Spain from November 6 to November 11, 2018.

Steven Da Costa French karateka

Steven Da Costa, sometimes written as Steven Dacosta is a French karateka. He won the gold medal in the men's 67 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. He is also a two-time gold medalist in the men's 67 kg event at the World Karate Championships and a two-time gold medalist in this event at the European Karate Championships.

The 2019 European Karate Championships were the 54th edition of the European Karate Championships, and were held in Guadalajara, Spain from 28 to 31 May 2019.

The 46th 2019 European Junior Karate Championships were the edition of the European Karate Championships, and were held in Aalborg, Denmark from 8 to 10 February 2019 along with the Karate Junior & U21 Championships and it was organized by Dansk Karate Forbund.

2021 European Karate Championships

The 2021 European Karate Championships was the 56th edition of the European Karate Championships and 3rd European Para Karate Championships, and was held in Poreč, Croatia from 19 to 23 May 2021.

The 2022 European Karate Championships was the 57th edition of the European Karate Championships and 4th European Para Karate Championships, held in Gaziantep, Turkey from 25 to 29 May 2022.

Karate at the 2022 World Games – Qualification This article details the qualifying phase for karate at the 2022 World Games. 96 quota places for the Games are entitled to the karatekas coming from their respective NOCs, based on the results at designated tournaments supervised by World Karate Federation. Each NOC could enter a maximum of eight karatekas of twelve event categories. Host nation United States of America has reserved a spot in each of all events.
