The 2019 Intercontinental Cup (known as the 2019 Hero Intercontinental Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the second edition of the Intercontinental Cup, a 4-nations football tournament held at TransStadia Arena in the Indian city of Ahmedabad between the 7th and 19th of July 2019. North Korea won the title by a 1–0 victory over Tajikistan in the final. [1]

Participating nations

Though the tournament was supposed to be played by teams from different confederations, in this edition of the Intercontinental Cup all teams participating were from AFC only. [3] [4] All the four teams played each other in a round robin phase and the top two teams played the final. [5]

The 2022 AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualification was an international men's under-23 football competition which decided the participating teams of the 2022 AFC U-23 Asian Cup.

The 2022 AFC Cup group stage was played from 18 May to 30 June 2022. A total of 39 teams competed in the group stage to decide the 12 places in the knockout stage of the 2022 AFC Cup.

The 2023 Intercontinental Cup was the third edition of the Intercontinental Cup, a four-nation football tournament held at the Kalinga Stadium, in the Indian city of Bhubaneswar between the 9 to 18 June 2023. The tournament was organized by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). North Korea won the previous edition by a 1–0 victory over Tajikistan in the final in 2019.

The 2023–24 season is the 136th competitive association football season in India. The domestic season begins in August 2023, while the national team season commences in July 2023.
