The 2021 Safari Rally (also known as the Safari Rally Kenya 2021) was a motor racing event for rally cars that was held over four days between 24 and 27 June 2021. [2] It marked the sixty-ninth running of the Safari Rally. The event was the sixth round of the 2021 World Rally Championship, World Rally Championship-2 and World Rally Championship-3. The 2021 event was based in Nairobi in the Nairobi County and was contested over eighteen special stages totalling 320.19 km (198.96 mi) in competitive distance. [1]
Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia won the rally. Their team, Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT, were the manufacturer's winners. [3] There were no classified finishers in the World Rally Championship-2 category. [4] Local hero Onkar Rai and Drew Sturrock won the World Rally Championship-3 category. [5]
At the age of ninety-one, Polish driver Sobiesław Zasada became the oldest competitor to start a World Rally Championship event. [6]
Reigning World Champions Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia entered the round with an eleven-point lead over Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin. Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe were third, a further eighteen points behind. In the World Rally Championship for Manufacturers, Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT held a massive a forty-nine-point lead over defending manufacturers' champions Hyundai Shell Mobis WRT, followed by M-Sport Ford WRT.
In the World Rally Championship-2 standings, Andreas Mikkelsen and Ola Fløene held a two-point lead ahead of Mads Østberg and Torstein Eriksen in the drivers' and co-drivers' standings respectively, with Marco Bulacia Wilkinson and Marcelo Der Ohannesian in third. In the teams' championship, Movisport and Toksport WRT co-led the championship, with M-Sport Ford WRT in third.
In the World Rally Championship-3 standings, Yohan Rossel and Alexandre Coria lead drivers' and co-drivers' championship respectively. Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Maciek Szczepaniak were second, trailed by Nicolas Ciamin and Yannick Roche.
The following crews entered the rally. The event was opened to crews competing in the World Rally Championship, its support categories, the World Rally Championship-2 and World Rally Championship-3, and privateer entries that are not registered to score points in any championship. Eleven entries for the World Rally Championship were received, as were four in the World Rally Championship-2 and six in the World Rally Championship-3.

The 2018 Rally Australia was a motor racing event for rally cars that took place between 15 and 18 November. The event was open to entries competing in World Rally Cars and cars complying with Group R regulations. It marked the twenty-seventh running of Rally Australia and was the final round of the 2018 FIA World Rally Championship and its support series, the WRC-2 and WRC-3 championships. The 2018 event was based in Coffs Harbour in New South Wales and consisted of twenty-four special stages. The rally covered a total competitive distance of a 316.30 km and an additional 698.91 km in transport stages.
The 2019 Rallye Deutschland was a motor racing event for rally cars that was held over four days between 22 and 25 August 2019. It marked the thirty-seventh running of Rallye Deutschland and was the tenth round of the 2019 World Rally Championship, World Rally Championship-2 and the newly-created WRC-2 Pro class. The 2019 event was based at the Bostalsee in Saarland, and was contested over nineteen special stages with a total a competitive distance of 344.04 km (213.78 mi).
The 2020 FIA World Rally Championship was the forty-eighth season of the World Rally Championship, a rallying competition organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Teams and crews competed in seven rallies for the World Rally Championships for Drivers, Co-drivers and Manufacturers. Crews were free to compete in cars complying with Rally1 and Rally2 regulations; however, only manufacturers competing with World Rally Cars homologated under regulations introduced in 2017 were eligible to score points in the Manufacturers' championship. The championship began in January 2020 with the Rallye Monte-Carlo and concluded in December 2020 with Rally Monza. The series was supported by the World Rally Championship-2, World Rally Championship-3 and Junior World Rally Championship categories at selected events.
The 2020 Rally Mexico was a motor racing event for rally cars that was held over four days between 12 and 15 March 2020. It marked the seventeenth running of Rally Mexico and was the third round of the 2020 World Rally Championship, World Rally Championship-2 and World Rally Championship-3. The 2020 event was based in the town of León in Guanajuato and consists of eleven special stages. The rally covered a total competitive distance of 324.85 km (201.85 mi).
The 2020 Rally Turkey was a motor racing event for rally cars that held between 18 and 20 September 2020. It marked the thirteenth running of Rally Turkey and was the fifth round of the 2020 World Rally Championship, World Rally Championship-2 and World Rally Championship-3. It was also the final round of the Junior World Rally Championship. The event was based in the famous Autodromo Nazionale di Monza circuit near Milan, where the Italian Grand Prix is held. The rally covered a total competitive distance of 239.20 km (148.63 mi).

It marked the forty-fifth running of the Croatia Rally, and the first time the event has been run as a round of the World Rally Championship. The event was the fourth round of the 2021 World Rally Championship, World Rally Championship-2 and World Rally Championship-3, as well as the second round of the 2021 Junior World Rally Championship. The 2021 event was based in Matosinhos in the Porto District and was contested over twenty special stages totalling 337.51 km (209.72 mi) in competitive distance.

The event was the fifth round of the 2021 World Rally Championship, World Rally Championship-2 and World Rally Championship-3. The 2021 event was based in Olbia in Sardinia and contested over twenty special stages totalling 303.10 km (188.34 mi) in competitive distance.
The 2021 Rally Estonia was a motor racing event for rally cars that was held over four days between 15 and 18 July 2021. It marked the eleventh running of the Rally Estonia. The event was the seventh round of the 2021 World Rally Championship, World Rally Championship-2 and World Rally Championship-3.
