The 2022 National Games of Nepal, also known as the 9th National Games of Nepal and informally Gandaki 2022 are held from 5 June 2022 to 11 June 2022 in Pokhara, Gandaki Province [1] .
Among 36 events 9 have been held outside the provincial capital Pokhara. [2] [3]
Teams are expected from all 7 Provinces and 3 departmental Clubs of Nepal as well as a team representing Non-Resident Nepali, NRNA.

Pokhara is a metropolitan city in central Nepal, which serves as the capital of Gandaki Province and the tourism capital of Nepal. It is the second most populous city of Nepal after Kathmandu, with 599,504 inhabitants living in 120,594 households as of 2021. It is the country's largest metropolitan city in terms of area. The city also serves as the headquarters of Kaski District. Pokhara is located 200 kilometres west of the capital, Kathmandu. The city is on the shore of Phewa Lake, and sits at an average elevation of approximately 822 m. The Annapurna Range, with three out of the ten highest peaks in the world—Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I and Manaslu—is within 15–35 mi (24–56 km) aerial range from the valley.
Damai is an occupational caste found among Khas people comprising 45 subgroups. Their surnames take after the subgroup they belong to. People belonging to this caste are traditionally tailors and musicians capable of using the naumati baja - an ensemble of nine traditional musical instruments. The term Damai is coined from the musical instrument Damaha. The 1854 Nepalese Muluki Ain categorized Damai as "Lower caste” category. Thus, K.C's of Kageswori municipality,Thali are one of the Damai group of the Kathmandu Valley.
Baglung District, a part of Gandaki Province, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district, with Baglung as its district headquarters, covers an area of 1,784 km2 (689 sq mi) and has a population (2011) of 268,613.
Kaski District, a part of Gandaki Province, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The name is disambiguated from Kaskikot, the ancient Kaski Kingdom.
Baglung is a municipality in Gandaki Province, in western Nepal, 275 km (171 mi) west of Kathmandu. It is the administrative headquarters of Baglung District. The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is the governing body of football in Nepal. It is responsible for the men's and women's national teams as well as club competitions. The organisation was founded in 1951 as the All Nepal Football Association and became affiliated with FIFA in 1972. The current President of ANFA is Pankaj Bikram Nembang. Its current headquarters is located in the ANFA House in ANFA Complex, Satdobato.
Gandaki Boarding School, , formerly known as Nepal Adarsha Bidyashram, is a model boarding school of Nepal, established on 11 June 1966 in the city of Pokhara, 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. It is the first and the only regional school of the country. It was established as a result of the initiation of three groups - The United Mission to Nepal, The Shining Hospital, and the local community.
The Chhantyal are an indigenous people of Nepal. Chhantyals are considered an indigenous group by the Government of Nepal. Most of the Chhantyal dwellings are concentrated in the western part of the country. Baglung and Myagdi are two districts in the Dhaulagiri Zone where most of the Chhantyals are living. Other districts with Chhantyal habitation include Mustang, Gulmi, Rukum, and Parbat. Nowadays, owing to the migration trend there is a notable population of the Chhantyals in Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, Rupandehi, Kaski, Dang and Chitwan districts. According to a survey conducted by its sole organization, Nepal Chhantyal Organization, the total population is 16,093 and 1,602 households. Traditionally Chhantyals have been living with other castes in harmony. In some villages Chhantyals are a major group whereas in other villages they are a minority. Chhantyals have their own culture, tradition, rituals, language, and religion.
The Pokhara Rangasala is a multi-purpose stadium in Pokhara, Gandaki Province, Nepal. It has a capacity of 16,500 spectators. The venue is located to the south of Pokhara at Rambazaar on the eastern bank of Seti river.
Sipora Gurung is a Nepalese national women athlete, volleyball player, actress and beauty pageant winner. She is top 5 finalist of Miss Nepal 2013 & winner of Miss Talent. She was born and raised in Pokhara. She is the youngest daughter of Moti Lal Gurung and Seti Ghising Gurung. She got recognition as the best volleyball player of Nepal at the age of 16. At the age of 13, she became the youngest player in 10th South Asian Games held in Sri Lanka, also won bronze medal for Nepal. She sustained knee injury during a volleyball match at age 18 and had since been unable to play and was out of court. She was also the Nepal champion of 200m and 400m. Her name translates beautiful bird in Hebrew language.
The National Games of Nepal is a multi-sport event held in Nepal. It Comprises various discipline in which sportsmen from the provinces and departmental teams of Nepal compete against each other. The games are organized by National Sports Council (Nepal), Nepal Olympic Committee and the host province.

Gandaki Province ), is one of the seven federal provinces established by the current constitution of Nepal which was promulgated on 20 September 2015. Pokhara is the province's capital city. It borders the Tibet Autonomous Region in Southwest China to the north, Bagmati Province to the east, Karnali Province to the west, and Lumbini Province and Bihar of India to the south. The total area of the province is 21,504 km2 - constituting 14.57% of Nepal's total area. According to the latest census, the population of the province was 2,479,745. The newly elected Provincial Assembly adopted Gandaki Province as the permanent name by replacing its initial name Province No. 4 on 27 April 2023. Surendra Raj Pandey is the present chief minister of Gandaki Province.
The Provincial Assembly of Gandaki Province also known as the Gandaki Province Sabha, is a unicameral governing and law making body of Gandaki Province, one of the seven provinces in Nepal. The assembly is seated at the provincial capital Pokhara in Kaski District at the Urban Development Training Centre. The assembly has 60 members of whom 36 are elected through first-past-the-post voting and 24 of whom are elected through proportional representation. The term of the assembly is five years until dissolved earlier.
Annapurna Rural Municipality, Kaski is a Gaunpalika in Kaski District in Gandaki Province of Nepal named after the Annapurna Mountain. On 12 March 2017, the Government of Nepal implemented a new local administrative structure. With the implementation of the new local administrative structure, VDSs have been replaced with municipal and village councils. Annapurna Gaupalika is one of these 753 local units.
Dhaulagiri II is a mountain in Gandaki Province, Nepal. It is part of the Dhaulagiri mountain range in north-central Nepal at an elevation of 7,751 metres (25,430 ft) and with the prominence of 2,391 metres (7,844 ft). Dhaulagiri II is the second highest mountain in the Dhaulagiri mountain range and it was first climbed by an Austrian-American expedition from its northwest side.
