The 2022 Toppserien was the 39th season of the highest women's football league in Norway. The season started on 20 March 2022. [2]
This season is the first with a new play-off system. It was set to be introduced in the 2020 season, but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [3]
The defending champions Sandviken changed their name to Brann. [4] [5] Røa were promoted from the 2021 First Division.

The bottom two teams are relegated, while the sixth placed team takes part in a relegation play-off against the first placed team of the First Division play-offs. [7]

The Toppserien is the top level of women's association football in Norway. It was founded in 1984.
The 2006 season of the Toppserien, the highest women's football (soccer) league in Norway, began on 6 May 2006 and ended on 28 October 2006.
