Kolbotn were promoted from the 2023 First Division. [2] Arna-Bjørnar were originally relegated from the 2023 Toppserien, but were allowed to stay in the league after Avaldsnes had their sporting license revoked for economic mismanagement, resulting in their relegation instead. [3]

The Toppserien is the top level of women's association football in Norway. It was founded in 1984.

The Kniksen Award, established in 1990, honors the best players in the Norwegian football premiership. The award is named after the legendary Norwegian football player Roald Jensen, nicknamed "Kniksen".

The 2010 Toppserien was the twenty-fourth season of top-tier women's football in Norway since its establishment in 1987. A total of twelve teams contested the league, consisting of ten who competed in the previous season and two promoted from the 1. divisjon. Aurora Watten Mikalsen is a Norwegian professional footballer who last played as a goalkeeper for Toppserien club Brann. She has represented the Norway national team at multiple youth levels and received her first senior call-up in February 2018.

The 2023 Toppserien is the 37th season of the highest women's football league in Norway. The season started on 25 March 2023 and will end on 12 November 2023. The season will not include championship and relegation playoffs rounds which were scrapped after only one season. Instead, the league schedule was increased by nine matches per team with each team playing each other three times instead of twice.

The 2024 Eliteserien is the 80th season of top-tier football in Norway. This is the eighth season of Eliteserien after rebranding from Tippeligaen.

The 2024 Norwegian First Division was a Norwegian second-tier football league season.

The 2024 Norwegian Women's Cup is the 47th season of the Norwegian annual knock-out football tournament. The first round was played in April and May 2024. The final will be played on 24 November 2024.
