The 2023 World Para Powerlifting Championships (WPPO Senior and Junior World Championships) was a powerlifting competition for athletes with a disability. It was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 22 to 30 August. [1]
The tournament is one of the compulsory tournaments to qualify for the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, France. [2]

Paralympic powerlifting, also known as para powerlifting and para-lifting, is an adaptation of the sport of powerlifting for athletes with disabilities. The only discipline in Paralympic powerlifting is the bench press. The sport is governed by the International Paralympic Committee and is open to anyone with a minimum level of disability who can extend their arms within 20° of full extension during a lift. Powerlifting has been competed at the Summer Paralympics since 1984.
The 2015 IAAF World Championships, the fifteenth edition of the IAAF World Championships, were held from 22 to 30 August at the National Stadium in Beijing, China. Forty-three nations won medals, 144 of which were awarded. Kenya topped the medal table for the first time, with 7 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals. The United States won 18 medals, six gold, six silver and six bronze, which was the highest tally. Host nation China, finished 11th on the medals table, while Russia finished ninth.
Nazmiye Muslu Muratlı, aka Nazmiye Muratlı, is a Turkish female powerlifter. She is the current world record holder in 40 kg division, set at the 2012 Paralympics, where she took the gold medal. She competes for Konya Meram Belediyespor.
The 2014 IPC Powerlifting World Championships was a competition for male and female athletes with a disability. With 360 competitors from over 60 countries, the event surpassed the number of entrants of the 2012 Summer Paralympics of London. It was held in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and ran from 5 to 11 April. The event was held in the Dubai Club for the Disabled.
The men's football tournament at the 2014 Asian Games was held in Incheon and three other cities in South Korea from 14 September to 2 October 2014. The opening match was played 5 days prior to the opening ceremony. The men's football tournament consisted of 29 teams.

The 43-year-old lifted 119 kg in the women's 86 kg category to take silver behind Egypt's Randa Mahmoud who lifted 130 kg for gold. Bronze went to Mexico's Catalina Diaz Vilchis who managed 117 kg.
