The 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Europe region, will begin in February 2024 and will conclude in March 2027. The process will determine the twelve teams that will qualify for the 2027 FIBA World Cup. [1]
FIBA Europe will be allocated 12 berths at the World Cup. In total, 42 FIBA Europe teams will take part in the qualification process. The qualification will consist of the following stages:
First round will be contested between teams that will not participate in EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers. Armenia will be making their second appearance in World Cup qualification, while Azerbaijan will make their debut. [2]
The ten participating nations will be sorted into three groups. Group A will contain four teams, while Groups B and C will include three teams each. [3] Each team will play the other teams in its group in home and away games in a round robin system across three windows on February 19-27, 2024, November 18-26, 2024 and February 17-25, 2025. Four teams in total - the three group winners plus the best ranked second placed team across all groups - will advance to the Second round. The other six teams will be eliminated.
Draw took place on 8 August 2023 in Munich. [4]
The seeding will be based on the FIBA World Ranking of 27 February 2023. [5]
