The 7th Vijay Awards ceremony honoring the best of the Tamil film industry in 2012 was held on 11 May 2013 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. [1] It was hosted by Gopinath and R. Madhavan. [2]

He was subsequently given a chance by actor Silambarasan to feature in a supporting role in Manmadhan (2004) and then was signed on to appear in a host of films, notably winning good reviews for his work in Sachien (2005) and Polladhavan (2007). He appeared in a one-off leading role in Shankar's production Arai En 305-il Kadavul (2008) and became a staple feature as a comedian in successful Tamil films during the period, with his market popularity helping stuck films find distributors.

Naalaiya Theerpu is a 1992 Indian Tamil-language vigilante action film directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar and produced by his wife Shoba Chandrasekhar which marked the debut of their son Vijay as a leading actor. The film which also starred Keerthana and Easwari Rao, with Srividya, Radha Ravi and Sarath Babu in supporting, had music composed by newcomer Manimekalai, cinematography by R. P. Imayavaramban and editing by Gautham Raju. The story revolves around a businessman who has many extra-marital affairs, molests his wife. However, things take an unexpected turn when she gets pregnant and has a son who later avenges against the deeds of his father.

Vijay Prakash is an Indian Playback singer and also a Music director from Karnataka. He has given his voice for predominantly Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu language films, in addition to Hindi, Malayalam and Marathi language films. He has also performed shows with Zakir Hussain. Prakash won the Karnataka Government's 'Best Playback Singer' award for the year 2016 for the song "Nammooralli Chaligaladalli" from the film Beautiful Manasugalu.

<i>Velayudham</i> 2011 film by M. Raja

Velayudham is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language superhero film directed by Mohan Raja and produced by V. Ravichandran under Aascar Film. It stars Vijay in the titular role with Hansika Motwani and Genelia D'Souza, while Santhanam, Saranya Mohan, Soori, Abhimanyu Singh, and Vineet Kumar play other prominent roles. The music was composed by Vijay Antony with cinematography by Priyan and editing by B. Lenin and V. T. Vijayan. The film was inspired from the 2000 Telugu film Azad and also marks Genelia's last Tamil film till date. Velayudham was released on 26 October 2011 to positive reviews and became a commercial success at the box office.

Thuppakki ( transl. Gun) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by AR Murugadoss. Produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu of V Creations, the film stars Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal, with Sathyan, Vidyut Jammwal, Jayaram, Manobala and Zakir Hussain in supporting roles. It revolves around Jagadish, an intelligence officer in the Indian Army, who seeks to track down, destroy and deactivate a sleeper cell, after witnessing and barely escaping a bomb blast executed by the cell.
