ABQ Uptown is an outdoor shopping mall owned by Simon Property Group in Albuquerque, New Mexico, one of four malls located in the Albuquerque area . [1] Anchor tenants include J.Crew, The North Face, and Lush, as well as the only Apple Store in New Mexico. The outdoor environment of this mall includes music, lights and seasonal decorations.
ABQ Uptown opened in 2006 as an open air "lifestyle center". It was developed by Hunt Development Group and designed by Dekker/Perich/Sabatini. [2]
The brownfield site was a vacant 20 acre lot between Coronado and Winrock Malls, originally the site of St. Pius X High School. The school was razed in the late 1980s to make room for an ambitious mixed-use development called The Commons, which would have included two 22-story office towers and a 14-story hotel. However, this project fell apart and the land remained vacant. [3] Below the infill site, a three level, 300 space parking garage was built to facilitate extra parking. [4]
ABQ Uptown opened in two phases. Phase one opened in November 2006, and included the shopping centers, parking garage, and the realignment of roads and utilities in the area. Phase two was the development and construction of housing, and opened in 2008. [5] Simon Property Group, who used to own Cottonwood Mall (the fourth mall in the metropolitan area, and the only one not in the uptown area), purchased ABQ Uptown from Hunt Building Corporation in 2012. [6] The businesses currently hosted include Apple, AT&T, Banana Republic, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Eddie Bauer, GAP, J. Crew, Lululemon Athletica, Lush, MAC Cosmetics, Michael Kors, Pottery Barn, Sleep Number, Soma, Starbucks, Sunglass Hut, The North Face, T-Mobile, Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy, White House Black Market, and Williams Sonoma. Apartments were added across the street from the ABQ Uptown shopping center. [8] The 198 unit building opened in 2008. [9]
Albuquerque International Sunport, locally known as the Sunport, is the primary international airport serving the U.S. state of New Mexico, particularly the Albuquerque metropolitan area and the larger Albuquerque–Santa Fe–Los Alamos combined statistical area. The Galleria, stylized theGalleria and also known as the Houston Galleria, is an upscale mixed-use urban development and shopping mall located in the Uptown District of Houston, Texas, United States. The development consists of a retail complex, as well as the Galleria Office Towers complex, two Westin hotels, and a private health club. The office towers and hotels are separately owned and managed from the mall. It features Macy's, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Ontario Mills is a shopping and outlet mall located in Ontario, California, within the Los Angeles metropolitan area. It is one of three Mills landmarks in California that are now managed by Simon Property Group since April 2007. Simon owns 50% of it. The Outlets at Orange and The Great Mall are the others. Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, originally the Pentagon City Mall, is an enclosed regional shopping mall in the Pentagon City neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia, near Interstate 395 and Hayes Street. Its Metro level is directly connected to the Pentagon City station on the Blue and Yellow Lines of the Washington Metro. The mall features Macy's and Nordstrom, and also houses the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City hotel.

ABQ RIDE is the local transit agency serving Albuquerque, New Mexico. ABQ RIDE operates a variety of city bus routes including two Albuquerque Rapid Transit (ART) bus rapid transit lines and an ARTx express bus line. It is the largest public transportation system in the state, serving 6,907,500 passengers in 2023, or about 24,600 per weekday as of the third quarter of 2024.
Rapid Ride was an express bus service with limited bus rapid transit (BRT) features which was operated by ABQ RIDE, the local transit agency in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from 2004 to 2020. The Rapid Ride name was phased out in 2020 with the rebranding of the one remaining Rapid Ride line as ARTx, though the service remains essentially the same.
The Alvarado Transportation Center (ATC) is a multimodal transit hub located at 100 1st Street SW in Downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. The complex was built as a hub for Albuquerque's regional transit system and as a replacement for Albuquerque's previous bus depot and train station. The center serves ABQ RIDE, Amtrak, Greyhound Lines, and the New Mexico Rail Runner Express commuter rail line.

Anchorage 5th Avenue Mall is a 447,000 square feet (41,500 m2) regional shopping mall located in Downtown Anchorage, Alaska, United States. It has five levels with the only JCPenney store in Alaska as its sole anchor. It also has Alaska's only Victoria's Secret, Apple Store, Coach, and Michael Kors locations. There was also a Nordstrom as a second anchor store until it closed in September 2019.
Cottonwood Mall is a shopping mall located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. The mall's anchor stores are Hobby Lobby, Mor Furniture, JCPenney, Ulta Beauty, Dillard's, Regal Cinemas, Fallout Trampoline Arena, Conn's, and HomeLife Furniture. There is 1 vacant anchor store that was once Sears. The mall is the second largest mall in the state of New Mexico, after Coronado Center, with a gross leasable area of 1,041,680 square feet (96,775 m2); the mall's food court features a diorama ceiling depicting the city of Albuquerque. The mall is also a regular filming location on several productions, including Better Call Saul and Daybreak. It features over 100 stores and restaurants, as well as a Regal Cinemas Theater. Cottonwood Mall was managed by Washington Prime Group. As of March 2022, the mall is leased and managed by court-appointed receiver “Spinoso Real Estate Group”. The mall's parking area has several dining establishments, including BJ's Restaurant & Brewery, Buffalo Wild Wings, Red Robin, Texas Roadhouse, and New Mexican cuisine restaurants like Garduños, Los Cuates, and Range Cafe.
Coronado Center is a shopping mall in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. Built in 1965 by the Homart Development Company, a defunct real-estate division of the department store Sears, the mall has undergone several renovations and expansions in its history which have led to it becoming the largest building by area in New Mexico. Its anchor stores include Macy's, J. C. Penney, Dick's Sporting Goods, Round One Entertainment, with two vacancies formerly occupied by Sears and Kohl's. Other major tenants include Barnes & Noble, H&M, Forever 21, The Container Store, The Cheesecake Factory, and Boot Barn. The mall features over 130 stores, including a food court, and is managed by Brookfield Properties.
Laurel Mall was a shopping mall located on the west side of U.S. Route 1 in Laurel, Maryland. The mall opened on October 11, 1979 and connected two pre-existing structures – the freestanding Montgomery Ward on its south side and Laurel Shopping Center to the north. The mall closed permanently on May 1, 2012.
Rockville Town Center is a town center in Rockville, Maryland. Opened in 1995, it replaced the demolished Rockville Mall.
Winrock Town Center is an open-air mixed-use development under construction in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. The center is anchored by two Dillard's locations and a Regal 16-screen IMAX and RPX Theatre. The town center is located on the site of the original Winrock Shopping Center, which opened in 1961 as the first regional shopping mall in New Mexico.
The Fashion Outlets of Santa Fe is an outdoor shopping mall in Santa Fe, New Mexico that opened in 1993. The shopping center is owned by 8380 LLC. It is the sole outlet mall in the state of New Mexico, and one of three malls within the city.
The Alvarado Hotel was a historic railroad hotel which was one of the most famous landmarks of Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was built in 1901–02 by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway and was operated by the Fred Harvey Company until 1970. With 120 guest rooms, it was the largest of all the Harvey hotels. Its demolition by the railroad in 1970 was described by preservationist Susan Dewitt as "the most serious loss of a landmark the city has sustained" and helped mobilize stronger support for historic preservation efforts in the city.
