The Act III: M.O.T.T.E 'Moment of Truth The End' World Tour (referred to as Act III: M.O.T.T.E) was the second concert tour by South Korean rapper and singer-songwriter G-Dragon. It was in support of his self-titled EP Kwon Ji Yong (2017). The tour began on June 10, 2017, in Seoul and concluded on October 8, 2017, in Taipei, Taiwan. [1]
Act III represents the beginning of the third decade of his life while 'M.O.T.T.E' (Korean : 모태; Hanja : 母胎; RR : motae) meaning "mother's womb" in Korean, or "from birth", also serves as an acronym for 'Moment Of Truth The End'. [2] The tour is the largest concert tour ever conducted by a Korean solo artist, it was attended by 654,000 people worldwide. [3] [4] [5]
In January 2017, YG Entertainment announced that G-Dragon was working on a new solo album to be released in 2017, along with a new concert tour to support the album. [6] On March 31, it was reported by various media outlets that G-Dragon will perform at Seoul World Cup Stadium on June 10. [7] YG Entertainment confirmed the concert a week later, making G-Dragon the second solo artist in history to perform at Seoul World Cup Stadium, after labelmate PSY. [8] On April 25, it was announced that the tour would visit 18 cities across Asia, North America and Oceania. [1] On June 17, additional dates were announced in Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan. [9] On June 26, YG Entertainment added five European cities to the tour, marking the first time for G-Dragon to stage a solo performance in Europe. [10]
The concert at Seoul World Cup Stadium was live-streamed in Japanese cinemas. [11] The final concert in Japan at Tokyo Dome on September 20 was aired live in 100 theaters across Japan. [12] [13]
Renowned designer and director Willo Perron, served as the creative director for the tour, having previously worked with international artists such as Rihanna, Kanye West, and Drake. [14]
Ticket sales started in South Korea on April 13, and all 40,000 tickets were sold out in 8 minutes, and generated $3.9 million USD in revenue from tickets sales. [15] [16] In Macau, a second show was added after the first sold-out moments after release, selling a combined number of 22,000 tickets. [17] [18] In Hong Kong, G-Dragon broke the record for the highest attendance at AsiaWorld–Arena for a single show, gathering 18,200 concertgoers each night for two consecutive performances. [19] G-Dragon's tour in Japan gathered a combined audience of 260,000 for five concerts, with attendance per concert averaging 52,000 people. [20]
According to Billboard Boxscore, the North American leg attracted nearly 60,000 people. [21] [22] On Pollstar's year end Top 200 North American Tours list for 2017, G-Dragon ranked at number 154 and earned $7.9 million from eight shows, making him the second Korean artist to enter the chart, after his band Big Bang. [23]
The tour received positive reviews from music critics. Writing about the concert in Macau, Kimberly Lim from The New Paper felt that "idea behind the concert was simple, yet profound." Lim also complimented how G-Dragon "has proven himself to be a multifaceted performer – one who is able to rap lighthearted, energetic songs, and sing emotional, power ballads while dancing." [24]
Riddhi Chakraborty, a reporter from Rolling Stone India described the first part of the concert as an "energetic opening" that starts with "pop-soaked hits from early on in his career, setting up a chronological progression of his repertoire for the rest of the evening", while the second part presents the "creation of a superstar depicted as a painful, surgical process, serving as a commentary on the superficiality of the entertainment industry", with G-Dragon jumping "genres effortlessly" and "wrapping it all up neatly with sharp choreography." About the final part, she wrote that it was "easily the most intimate of the three segments", and concluded that in the concert, the rapper decided "lay it all bare and give his fans the best show possible", making use of "precise choreography, stage direction, seamless costume changes and a plethora of pyrotechnics", but despite its "high production value", the writer felt that his "unwavering enthusiasm, electric stage presence and brutal honesty that indeed make it 'the tour you cannot miss.'" [25]
The website Vulture ranked the concert at the Barclays Center at number three in their "The 10 Best Concerts of 2017" list, complementing how he "performed with presence, aware that he's not just any man, putting on a show in three acts that saw multiple wardrobe changes, sharp choreography, expensive lights and sets onstage, and his usual cheeky oscillations between femme and machismo." Additionally, they praised the way the rapper "broke the fourth wall" and showed the audience that "he's still a work in progress, but he's no longer scared to let his fans watch that transformation." [26]

BigBang is a South Korean boy band formed by YG Entertainment. The group consists of three members: G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung. Originally a five-piece band, Seungri retired from the entertainment industry in March 2019 and T.O.P left in May 2023. Dubbed the "Kings of K-pop", they helped spread the Korean Wave internationally and are considered one of the most influential acts in K-pop. They are known for their trendsetting musical experimentation, self-production, and stage presence.
Choi Seung-hyun, better known by his stage name T.O.P, is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter and actor. He performed as an underground rapper before joining the record label YG Entertainment and debuted as the lead rapper for the boy band BigBang in 2006. The group became one of the best-selling groups of all-time in Asia and one of the best-selling boy bands in the world. In 2010, while the group was on hiatus, T.O.P and G-Dragon collaborated to release the album, GD & TOP. As a solo rapper, he has released two digital singles, "Turn It Up" (2010) and "Doom Dada" (2013), that have peaked at number two and four, respectively, on the Gaon Digital Chart.
Kwon Ji-yong, best known as G-Dragon (지드래곤), is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur, known as the "King of K-pop". Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, G-Dragon made his debut in 2006 and rose to prominence as the leader of the South Korean boy band BigBang, which went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands in the world.
Dong Young-bae, better known by his stage name Taeyang or SOL, is a South Korean singer. He made his debut in 2006 as a member of the South Korean boy band BigBang. Following the release of several albums and extended plays with his group, Taeyang pursued a solo career in 2008, releasing his first extended play, Hot. The EP was acclaimed by critics and went to win the award for Best R&B & Soul Album at the 6th Korean Music Awards. Hot was followed by his first full-length studio album Solar (2010), which was released in July 2010 and peaked atop the Gaon Album Chart.
Kang Dae-sung, better known mononymously as Daesung and his Japanese stage name D-Lite, is a South Korean singer who made his musical debut in 2006 as a member of the South Korean boy band Big Bang. He debuted as a solo artist in South Korea with the number one trot song "Look at Me, Gwisoon" in 2008. Since the inception of the Gaon Digital Chart in 2010, Daesung achieved two Top 10 songs, the digital single "Cotton Candy" and "Wings" from the BigBang album Alive (2012).
The Alive Galaxy Tour was the first worldwide concert tour and sixth overall by South Korean boy band Big Bang. It promotes the group's fifth Korean-language EP, Alive, across four continents: Asia, North America, South America and Europe. The group hired choreographer and creative director Laurieann Gibson to direct the show. The tour was officially sponsored by Samsung GALAXY.
Made is the third Korean-language studio album by South Korean boy band Big Bang. Made was preceded by four single albums containing two singles each, which were released in increments from May to August 2015. After over a year of delays, the full studio album was released on December 13, 2016. It marks the group's comeback after a three-year hiatus and their first full length Korean album since Remember (2008). The production of Made was primarily handled by G-Dragon along with long-time group collaborator Teddy Park. Musically, the album employs hip hop, EDM, pop rock, R&B styles with its lyrics examining expressions of doubt, worry, sexuality, and societal issues.

0.TO.10 was the tenth concert tour by South Korean boy band Big Bang that was held to celebrate the group's tenth anniversary. Kwon Ji Yong is the second extended play (EP) by South Korean rapper G-Dragon, released digitally on June 8, 2017 by YG Entertainment. The EP was his first release in four years, following his second studio album Coup d'Etat (2013). The physical release was made on a USB flash drive in lieu of a traditional compact disc. The EP was generally well-received by critics who praised G-Dragon's honesty and vulnerability on the EP. This was G-Dragon's final release before his military enlistment on February 27, 2018, as well as before his departure from YG in 2023.

The Rise World Tour is the first world tour by South Korean singer Taeyang, in support of his second studio album RISE. The tour started on August 12, 2014 in Osaka, Japan and ended on March 1, 2015 in Taiwan.

The Last Dance Tour is the sixth concert tour in Japan and eleventh overall by South Korean boy band Big Bang. The tour began on November 18, 2017 in Fukuoka, Japan and concluded on December 31, 2017 in Seoul, South Korea. BigBang broke their own record by being the only foreign act to hold a dome-sized arena tour in Japan for the fifth consecutive year. The oldest member T.O.P did not perform on this tour due to his mandatory military service in South Korea which began in February 2017.
"Flower Road" is a song by South Korean boy band Big Bang. It was released digitally on March 13, 2018, by YG Entertainment, as a gift and a final farewell from the group to its fans ahead of a lengthy hiatus, as the band members serve in South Korea's mandatory military service. It would also end up being their last single to feature longtime lead dancer and sub vocalist Seungri before his retirement on March 11, 2019. It was written by G-Dragon and T.O.P and produced by the former along with The Fliptones, who also participated in creating GD X Taeyang's "Good Boy" and Taeyang's "Stay with Me".
The Great Seungri was a concert tour by South Korean singer Seungri. The tour began in Seoul, South Korea at the Jangchung Gymnasium on August 4, 2018, and concluded in Singapore at The Star Performing Arts Centre.
