History

On November 19, 2018, Florida Hospital Flagler announced that it was purchasing six acres from Flagler County for $175,000. It is located by Interstate 95 and Matanzas High School. It planned on building a 12-bed emergency department and a two-story medical office building for a total of $25 million. [2] [3] [4] Later plans for the ER were dropped.

On January 19, 2021, AdventHealth announced that it was constructing a new $100 million [5] [6] [7] (later it grew to $167 million) 153,000-square-foot; four-story hospital in Palm Coast, Florida with 100 private hospital beds. [8] [9] It expected that the new hospital would create 300 to 500 full-time jobs, in addition to the 1,100 at AdventHealth Palm Coast. [5] [6] [10]

On April 21, 2021, by a vote of 7-to-0 the Planning and Land Development Regulation Board approved rezoning the 11-acre site. [11]

On May 18, 2021, the Palm Coast City Council approved the construction of AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway and a medical office building. The Palm Coast City Council made zoning changes to the district since it limited the height of buildings to 50-feet to allow the 80-foot tall hospital. [12]

On September 2, 2021, AdventHealth had a groundbreaking ceremony for AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway. [13] On September 14, 2021, construction workers began construction of the hospital. [14] [15] [16]

On May 24, 2022, AdventHealth and Robins & Morton celebrated the topping out of AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway. [17] [18] [19]

On July 31, 2023, construction was completed and the hospital officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 2, 2023. [8] [20] It opened next to a 30,000-square-foot medical office building which opened on June 2, 2023. [21] [22]
