Afgansyah Reza or better known as Afgan (born in Jakarta, Indonesia on 27 May 1989) is an Indonesian singer, songwriter, and actor of Minangkabau descent.

Early life and career

Afgansyah Reza was born on 27 May 1989, in Jakarta and into a Muslim musical family of Minangkabau origin, although he never had any vocal training. [2] [3] He is the second of four children from Loyd Yahya and Lola Purnama. His career began when he and a few friends decided to record a private album at Wanna B Instant Recording Studio. The producers at the studio offered him a contract when they heard him sing. [2] His first album, Confession No.1 , was a mix of jazz, pop, and R&B influences and including tracks, such as "Terima Kasih Cinta", "Klise", "Sadis", and "Tanpa Batas Waktu". A music video of the song "Terima Kasih Cinta" was produced by Thalita Latief  [ id ] and directed by Jose Purnomo. He won the Best Solo Male Vocalist Award for the song at the 2009 Anugerah Musik Indonesia. In 2009, he made his first foray into acting when he appeared in the film Bukan Cinta Biasa  [ id ] with Olivia Jensen  [ id ] [2] and he also sang the title track for the film's soundtrack. The next year, he also appeared in the film Cinta 2 Hati  [ id ] and performed on the film's soundtrack. His second album, The One , was released in January 2010. In 2011, he performed the theme song at the Southeast Asian Games. [4]

He has since then released ‘Live to Love’ album in 2013, followed by ‘Sides’ in 2016 and ‘Dekade’ in 2018. In November 2018, Afgan celebrated 10 years in the music industry by kicking off his Dekade concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia followed by another concert in Jakarta in September 2019. Both concerts were sold out.[ citation needed ]

In 2020, Afgan together with Raisa released the single "Tunjukkan" five years after their first collaboration. Afgan had just released a new single on 6 February 2021, called "I’m sorry". His first global album "Wallflower", containing 10 tracks was released on 9 April 2021.[ citation needed ]

Personal life

His personal life is closely followed by the Asian media. He has a Bachelor in Economics from Monash University. [2]

D'Masiv is an Indonesian musical group which based in Jakarta. It consists of six members: Rian Ekky Pradipta (vocals), Dwiki Aditya Marsall (guitar),Nurul Damar Ramadan (guitar), Rayyi Kurniawan Iskandar Dinata (bass), Wahyu Piadji (drums), and Vegry Harindah Husain (keyboardist). D'Masiv' name later aligned with the bands "Top" of Indonesia such as Ungu, Nidji, or Peterpan because of the popularity of their songs.

Melliana Cessy Goeslaw is an Indonesian singer, songwriter, composer, producer, writer and actress. She began singing while in the fifth grade, then began writing songs and took work as a backing vocalist for Elfa Secioria in high school. This led to her family and her moving to Jakarta to further her career. While providing backing vocals for Katon Bagaskara's promotional tour, she met Anto Hoed and Andi Ayunir. After marrying Hoed, the three formed the band Potret in 1995. Their 1995 debut album was well received, bringing Goeslaw and her bandmates to fame. After releasing several albums with Potret, Goeslaw attempted to begin a solo career, releasing her self-titled debut album Melly in 1999. Although Melly sold well, she became more popular as a solo artist after providing the soundtrack for the 2002 hit film Ada Apa dengan Cinta? together with her husband. Her later releases include solo albums and soundtracks. Anugerah Planet Muzik 2009 is the 9th edition of Anugerah Planet Muzik, held on July 18, 2009, for the first time taking place in Indonesia, in the Jakarta Convention Center. It was the first time APM was in Jakarta. There was a bombing at the hotel Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott Hotels the day before the show, but that did not stop the musicians of Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia from continuing to enliven the Anugerah Planet Muzik 2009.

Dato Siti Nurhaliza & Friends Concert

Yonder Music Live Series: Dato' Siti Nurhaliza & Friends Concert was a single day concert by Malaysian recording artist, Siti Nurhaliza. Sponsored by Celcom and Yonder Music, the free concert was only available exclusively to Celcom users who are subscribers of the Yonder Music mobile app. It was held on 2 April 2016 and she was supported and accompanied by five Malaysian artists and three Indonesian artists. RAN is an Indonesian pop rock band formed in Jakarta, Indonesia in November 2006. The group comprises Rayi Putra Rahardjo (vocals/rap), Astono "Asta" Andoko (guitars), and Anindyo "Nino" Baskoro (vocals), the group name taken from the members' initials. Their music combines elements of jazz, R&B, rock, hip-hop, and funk.

The 2018 Asian Games closing ceremony was held on Sunday, 2 September 2018 at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta. It began at 19:00 Indonesia Western Time (UTC+7) and ended at 21:25 local time. Like the opening ceremony, host event broadcasting company International Games Broadcast Services (IGBS) broadcast the ceremony live internationally. Vice President of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla, president of International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach, and president of Olympic Council of Asia Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah were among the dignitaries in attendance.
