Muhammad Ajmal Khan was a Pakistani botanist and the 17th Vice-Chancellor of University of Karachi. [2] [3] [4]
Khan spent 40 years in teaching and research. He received his BSc (Hons) degree in botany in 1973, MSc in plant physiology in 1974 from University of Karachi, PhD in physiological ecology from Ohio University in 1985 and DSc in botany again from University of Karachi in 2010. [5] [6] [7]
The University of Karachi is a public research university located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Established in June 1951 by an act of Parliament and as a successor to the University of Sindh, the university is a "Sindh Government University" and designed by Mohsin Baig as its chief architect.
The Sitara-e-Imtiaz also spelled as Sitara-i-Imtiaz, is the third-highest honour and civilian award in the State of Pakistan. It recognizes individuals who have made an "especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of Pakistan, world peace, cultural or other significant public endeavours".
Arif-ur-Rehman Alvi is a Pakistani politician who served as the 13th president of Pakistan, in office from 2018 to 2024. He was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from June 2013 to May 2018 and again from August to September 2018. Alvi was a dentist before entering politics in 1979, when he joined Jamaat-e-Islami (Pakistan), but resigned later on from the party and then joined former cricketer Imran Khan's party in 1996 and is amongst the founding members of PTI.

Hafiz Muhammad Shakil Auj TI was a Pakistani Islamic scholar and author. He also served as a professor and dean at Karachi University's faculty of Islamic Studies. During his career, Auj taught at the Karachi University for nineteen years, including heading the Islamic Studies department between 1 February 2012 until his assassination on 18 September 2014 by Al-Qaeda. During this time, Auj authored fifteen books on Islamic studies. Auj had received Tamgha-e-Imtiaz from the President of Pakistan for his contributions to the field of Islamic education. Auj was noted as an Islamic reformist for his liberal interpretation of Islam.
Muhammad Ajmal Khan was the first Vice-Chancellor of Islamia College University, Peshawar from 26 June 2008 to 25 June 2016. He is also a cousin of Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan.

Mohamed Ahmed Qadri is a Pakistani political scientist having served as the Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Dean Faculty of Islamic Studies at the University of Karachi in Pakistan. Qadri is the former Vice Chancellor of Nazeer Hussain University in Karachi. Ajmal Khan Wazir is a Pakistani politician and former advisor to Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations. The date 12 February 1983 is significant in the history of women's rights in Pakistan because the first such march was brutally suppressed by the martial law enforced by the police of General Zia ul Haq's regime. The Day is over three weeks before International Women's Day when the Aurat Marches take place in Pakistan.
