Transport

Jyotirindra Nath Nandi metro station and Satyajit Ray metro station, under construction on the Kavi Subhas-Biman Bandar route (Kolkata Metro Line 6), would serve Ajoy Nagar, Survey Park and Santoshpur areas lying close to the E.M. Bypass section of the city. [6] [7]

Three other lines are in various phases of construction. The system has a mix of underground, at-grade and elevated stations using both broad-gauge and standard-gauge tracks. Santoshpur is a neighbourhood in the southern part of Kolkata, India. It is loosely bounded by Garfa to the north, the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass to the east, Jadavpur to the west and Baghajatin to the south.

It is being built by RVNL, Senbo & ITD. It will run mostly underground viaducts. It will run elevated until Jessore Road Station and then it goes underground towards Barasat metro station. It will have an interchange station at the NSCBI Airport with Kolkata Metro Line 6.

Kolkata Metro Line 6 or the Orange Line of the Kolkata Metro is an under-construction rapid transit line that will connect New Garia with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport via two satellite towns Salt Lake and New Town. The line is targeted to open from Kavi Subhash to Hemanta Mukhopadhyay in 2023 but it is delayed indefinitely for now. This stretch will be one of the most important stretches of the metro because it will connect the southern and the eastern parts of the city with Kolkata Airport. Total distance of this route will be 29.87 km (18.56 mi).
