Akankshya Yojana is a social welfare programme initiated by the Government of Odisha, in India, for tribal people in that state.

Akankshya Yojana provides hostels to tribal students pursuing higher education in various fields. In 2015, the Government of Odisha provided facilitated hostels to 3.5 lakh students falling under the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) category. [1] [2] [3]

Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) is a Government of India scheme for model residential school for Indian tribals across India. Kamala Pujari

Kamala Pujari is a tribal woman from Koraput in Odisha, India. She is known for promoting organic farming. Interested in traditional farming, she learned the basic techniques from MS Swaminathan Research Foundation at Jeypore and has contributed a lot in the field of organic farming. She was awarded India's fourth highest civilian, the Padma Shri.

Gamit Ramilaben Raysingbhai is a tribal social worker from Taparwada Village, Tapi district, Gujarat known for her work in transforming several villages in Gujarat to open-defecation free villages. She is also known for her work for the empowerment of rural women by setting up a large number of self help groups of women. In the year 2022, the government of India honoured Gamit Ramilaben Raysingbhai by conferring the Padma Shri Award for her contribution to social work.
