The Akari Power Chargers are a women's volleyball team competing in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) in the Philippines. The team is owned by Akari Lighting & Technology Corporation.

Contents

History

The Akari Chargers was organized by Akari Lighting & Technology Corporation, announcing its official entry into the Premier Volleyball League as the 10th professional club team. [1] Akari's has been a longtime sponsor of the Adamson Lady Falcons collegiate volleyball team which clinched the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference. [2]

Before the start of the 2022 reinforced conference, Akari announced that it tapped the Brazilian head coach of the Philippines women's national volleyball team, Jorge Edson to be its head coach. [3] The team debuted in the 2022 Reinforced Conference.

The team made its first finals appearance in the PVL during the 2024 Reinforced Conference, [4] where they settled for silver after losing 3–0 to the Creamline Cool Smashers. [5]

He was a member of the Brazil men's national volleyball team that won the gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona by defeating the Netherlands (3-0) in the final. He played as a middle blocker. He was born in Porto Alegre.

Michele Theresa Imperial Gumabao is a Filipino volleyball player and beauty pageant titleholder. She is currently signed to the Creamline Cool Smashers of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), and has previously played for teams in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL). The Farm Fresh Foxies is a women's professional volleyball team in the Philippines playing in the Premier Volleyball League.

The 2023 Premier Volleyball League Second All-Filipino Conference was the sixteenth conference of the Premier Volleyball League. The tournament began on October 15, 2023. This tournament was set to be the second post-pandemic import-laden conference known as the 2023 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference, with the Angels set to defend their crown, but was made into a second All-Filipino Conference as a consequence of sanctions from the Philippine National Volleyball Federation.

The 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) season was the seventh season of the Premier Volleyball League. The season began on February 20, 2024 with the beginning of the 2024 All-Filipino Conference and ended on September 12, 2024 with the conclusion of the 2024 Invitational Conference.
