Alliance for the Future (Czech : Aliance pro budoucnost, APB) is a political party in the Czech Republic, established in 2016 as the Civic Democratic Alliance (ODA). It considers itself to be successor of the previous Civic Democratic Alliance. It was established in September 2016 by current leader Pavel Sehnal, [5] and former Prime Minister Petr Nečas is also involved with the party. [6] The party participated in the 2017 legislative election and plans to participate in the 2018 municipal election. [7] The leaders of the original Civic Democratic Alliance are not involved with the party. [8]
ODA is a conservative-liberal centre-right party. It supports the European Union and multiculturalism. [9]
The party was founded in December 2016 by Pavel Sehnal, CEO of SPGroup. The company is closely linked with the party and leading associates of the company became key members of the party. Sehnal said that the party is a successor to the original Civic Democratic Alliance. [5]
On 29 June 2017, ODA announced Vratislav Kulhánek as its presidential candidate for the 2018 presidential election, and started gathering signatures. [10]
On 17 July 2017, ODA announced that it would participate in the 2017 legislative election, co-operating with a political movement For Health and Sport. [11]
In August 2017, ODA started working with a controversial youtuber, Mikael Oganesjan, and controversial agency Plavec Media. This was criticised in the media. [12] [13] The negative response on social media caused Sehnal to end the collaboration. [14]

The Civic Democratic Alliance was a conservative-liberal political party in the Czech Republic, active between 1989 and 2007. The ODA was part of government coalitions until 1997 and participated in transformation of the Czech economy. The party was supported by president Václav Havel who voted for it in 1992 and 1996 election.
The Civic Democratic Party is a conservative and economic liberal political party in the Czech Republic. The party sits centre-right on the political spectrum, and holds 34 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, and is the second strongest party by number of seats following the 2021 election. In Czech politics, Klausism refers to the political positions of Václav Klaus, former prime minister and president of the Czech Republic. It was first used by Mirek Topolánek, who designated Klausism as the ideology of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS). This term was also used by former Prague mayor Jan Kasl. Klaus himself does not take issue with the term. The current usage of the term "Klausism" has become distanced from Klaus himself, leading to the phrase "Klausism without Klaus". The term "Klausism" is also frequently used as a label for the neologisms invented by Klaus. Klaus himself used the term "Mental Scheme of ODS", which he allegedly invented by chance. This term was also used by Jan Kasl.
Vratislav Kulhánek is a Czech business manager and former chairman of the Czech Ice Hockey Association. He stood as a candidate in the 2018 presidential election as a nominee of the Civic Democratic Alliance, finishing ninth of nine candidates.
Pavel Fischer is a Czech politician and diplomat who has been Senator from Prague 12 since 2018. Fischer previously served as Czech Ambassador to France from 2003 to 2010. He was a presidential candidate in 2018, when he finished third with 10.23% of the vote, and in 2023, when he finished fourth with 6.75% of the vote. He was elected to the Czech Senate in 2018.
