2024 Czech regional elections will be held on 20 and 21 September 2024 to elect all 675 members of all 13 Czech regional councils. The regional elections are held together with the first round of the 2024 Czech Senate election. [1]

Voting system

Elections are held in each region to elect its regional council, which is composed of 45 to 65 regional councilors, whom will elect the governor of the region. Elections are held using open list proportional representation method, with 5% threshold for both parties and coalitions in each region. The minimal age for both voting and candidacy is 18 years. Plzeň municipal election in 2014 was held as part of 2014 Czech municipal elections. It was held on 10 and 11 October 2014. ANO 2011 received the highest number of votes but Civic Democratic Party (ODS) and Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) won the same number of seats in the City's assembly. Civic Democratic Party ruled in Plzeň more than 20 years but was expected to lose its positions and receive only 10% of votes. In an electoral upset, ODS received more than 17%. Leader of local Civic Democrats Martin Baxa said that he believes that ODS was the actual victor of the election. Voter turnout was 33.73%.

From 2013 to 2017, he was a Member of the Chamber of Deputies, and has also served as Deputy Minister of Justice, and First Deputy Minister of Health. Since 2020, Ženíšek is a regional assembly member in the Plzeň Region and a Deputy Governor.

Senate elections for one-third of the Senate of the Czech Republic will be held on 20 and 21 September 2024. The first round will be held alongside regional elections, with a potential second round one week later.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Klára Dostálová</span> Czech politician

Klára Dostálová is a Czech politician and economist who has been a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic since 2017. She served as Deputy Minister of Local Development in the Second Cabinet of Andrej Babiš from 2014 to 2017 before being appointed permanently from December 2017 until 2021. In 2020, Dostálová returned to the council of the Hradec Králové region, of which she has been a member from 2016 until 2017. Dostálová is active in politics as a non-party member of the ANO movement.
