American Idols Live! Tour 2003 was a concert tour featuring 9 of the top 12 contestants of the second season of American Idol , which aired in 2003. It began on July 8, 2003, St. Paul, Minnesota and finished on August 31, 2003, in Anaheim, California. Josh Gracin was unable to participate in the tour as he was recalled to his unit in the U.S. Marines, and Corey Clark was barred from participating due to his failure to reveal his Misdemeanor arrest. [1] Corey Clark was replaced by Charles Grigsby for the tour, but the show producers opted not to replace Josh Gracin with twelfth-placed finisher Vanessa Olivarez.
Following the success of the first concert tour of 2002, the tour was expanded to 41 dates, including a stop in Canada. [2] [3] The tour was sponsored by Kellogg's Pop-Tarts. [4]

The show had the similar structure as that of the previous season, with the first half being entirely solos performed by contestants in elimination order, and the second half consisting of performances in groups and some solos. There was however more varied ensemble singing with a number of duets and a few trios introduced.

This tour was an even greater success than the first one with sell-out shows in many cities. [5] In total 411,005 tickets were sold, yielding a gross total of $15,977,802 as reported by Billboard, nearly doubling that of Season 1 tour. [6]
Clayton Holmes Aiken is an American singer, television personality, actor and political activist. Aiken finished second place on the second season of American Idol in 2003, and his debut album, Measure of a Man, went multi-platinum. He released four more albums on the RCA label, Merry Christmas with Love (2004), A Thousand Different Ways (2006), the Christmas EP All is Well (2006), and On My Way Here (2008). Since then he has released two more albums, both with Decca Records: Tried and True (2010) and Steadfast (2012). Aiken has also had eleven tours in support of his albums. In all, he has sold over 5 million albums, and is the fourth-highest-selling American Idol alumnus.
Ruben Studdard is an American singer and actor. He rose to fame as the winner of the second season of American Idol and received a Grammy Award nomination in 2003 for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for his recording of "Superstar". In the years following Idol, Studdard has released seven studio albums, including his platinum-selling debut, Soulful, and the top-selling gospel follow-up, I Need an Angel. He is most well known for his recording career, which has produced hits including "Flying Without Wings", "Sorry 2004", and "Change Me", but he has also segued into television and stage work. Most notably, he starred as Fats Waller in a national tour revival of Ain't Misbehavin', which spawned a Grammy-nominated soundtrack.
Lashundra Trenyce Cobbins is an American singer and actress best known as a finalist on the second season of American Idol and for her work in musical theatre. Raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Trenyce won one of the categories of the NAACP ACT-SO as a teenager, and attended the University of Memphis on a music scholarship.
Joshua Mario Gracin is an American country music singer. While serving in the US Marine Corps, he first gained public attention as the fourth-place finalist on the second season of American Idol.
Kimberley Dawn Locke is an American singer and television personality. She has recorded in the dance and pop genres, and has targeted the adult contemporary radio format. She was the cohost of the daytime talk show Dr. and the Diva.
"Flying Without Wings" is a song by Irish boy band Westlife, released on 18 October 1999 as the third single from their self-titled debut studio album (1999). It is the band's fourth-best-selling single on both paid-for and combined sales in the United Kingdom as of January 2019.
Carmen Rasmusen Herbert is a Canadian-American country music artist who ranked sixth on the second season of American Idol in 2003. Rasmusen also plays piano and guitar.
The second season of American Idol premiered on January 21, 2003, and continued until May 21, 2003. The title of show was shortened from American Idol: The Search for a Superstar to just American Idol. Brian Dunkleman quit after the first season, and Ryan Seacrest therefore became the lone host beginning with the second season.
American Idol Rewind is a syndicated television series that ran from September 30, 2006 to May 15, 2010. The hour-long weekly series was a repurposed edition of the hit reality talent show American Idol, featuring present day interviews with the contestants, semi-finalists and rejected auditioners in addition to extra audition, Hollywood Week, and finals footage never previously aired. It featured the first five seasons of the original series.

It was sponsored by Kellogg Pop-Tarts. The tour started on July 5 and ended on September 24 covering 60 dates, the biggest tour thus far. Initially 39 dates were planned, but 21 extra dates were later added due to demand. It followed in the tradition of other American Idol summer tours following the completion of each season in May.
An American Idol Christmas is a Christmas television special for the television shows American Idol, American Juniors and Canadian Idol, but focused mostly on American Idol– the Canadian winner Ryan Malcolm was edited out in the American release, for legal reasons. The special was broadcast on the Fox television network in the United States and CTV in Canada. It was first broadcast on November 25, 2003 in the United States. The record received mixed reviews from critics divided over the quality of the track listing and Ruben's vocal performance. Soulful debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and spawned two singles: "Sorry 2004" and "What If".

This tour followed in the tradition of other American Idol summer tours following the completion of the season in May. The 53-date tour started in Glendale and ended in Tulsa.
The American Idols Live! Tour 2011 is a summer concert tour in the United States, Canada and the Philippines that features the Top 11 contestants of the tenth season of American Idol. The 49-date tour started in West Valley City, Utah, on July 6, and its North American leg ended in Rochester, New York on September 10. Forty-five dates were originally planned but four extra dates were added due to high demand, including two final shows in Manila, Philippines, only the second time the show has traveled outside North America after Singapore was added to the tour schedule in Season 3.
