Ancotrema is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Haplotrematidae.
This genus is sometimes considered to be a subgenus of Haplotrema . Haplotrema and Ancotrema cannot be distinguished only on the basis of their shells, but can be distinguished on the basis of their detailed internal anatomy. [2]
The genus Ancotrema contains the following species: [3] [4]
Desmognathus is a genus of lungless salamanders in the family Plethodontidae known as dusky salamanders. They range throughout the eastern United States as far west as Texas, and north to southeastern Canada.
Henry Augustus Pilsbry was an American biologist, malacologist and carcinologist, among other areas of study. He was a dominant presence in many fields of invertebrate taxonomy for the better part of a century. For much of his career, his authority with respect to the classification of certain substantial groups of organisms was unchallenged: barnacles, chitons, North American terrestrial mollusks, and others.
Cryptomastix is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs in the family Polygyridae.
Stenotrema is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs in the family Polygyridae. These are typically small to medium-sized snails, with a velvety or hairy shell surface, and a narrow aperture which is usually closely guarded by well-developed "teeth".

Daedalochila is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Polygyridae.
Webbhelix is a genus of North American land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Polygyridae. The genus contains several taxa which were previously included under the name Triodopsis multilineata.
