The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a country situated in West Asia, the largest country on the Arabian Peninsula, bordering the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea. The Mecca Province, officially Makkah Province, is one of the 13 provinces of Saudi Arabia. It is the third-largest province by area at 153,128 km2 (59,123 sq mi) and the most populous with a population of 8,557,766 as of 2017, of which 4,041,189 were foreign nationals and 4,516,577 were Saudis. It is located in the historic Hejaz region, and has an extended coastline on the Red Sea. Its capital is Mecca, the holiest city in Islam, and its largest city is Jeddah, which is Saudi Arabia's main port city. The province accounts for 26.29% of the population of Saudi Arabia and is named after the Islamic holy city of Mecca.
Abha is the capital of 'Asir Region in Saudi Arabia. It is situated 2,270 metres above sea level in the fertile Asir Mountains of south-western Saudi Arabia, near Asir National Park. Abha's mild climate makes it a popular tourist destination for Saudis. Saudis also call the city the Bride of Mountain due to its position above the sea.
Haʼil is a city in north-western Saudi Arabia. It is the capital and largest city of Ha'il Region, with a population of about 605,930 (2018).
Hunayn is a location in the Hijaz, Saudi Arabia, close to the city of Ta’if. It is located between Mecca and Ta’if in the Sarawat Mountains.
The Sarawat Mountains, also known as the Sarat in singular case, is a part of the Hijaz Mountains in the western part of the Arabian Peninsula. In a broad sense, it runs parallel to the eastern coast of the Red Sea, and thus encompasses the mountains of Fifa', 'Asir and Taif. In a narrow sense, the Sarawat start in Taif city in Saudi Arabia, and extend to the Gulf of Aden in the south, running along the entire western coast of Yemen, in what used to be North Yemen, and extend eastwards into part of what used to be South Yemen, thus running parallel to the Gulf of Aden.
The Hijaz Mountains or "Hejaz Range" is a mountain range located in the Hejazi region of western Saudi Arabia. The range runs north and south along the eastern coast of the Red Sea, and can thus be treated as including the Midian Mountains, and being part of the Sarawat Mountains, broadly speaking.
Jabal Sawda is a peak in the Soudha mountains in Saudi Arabia. It has been claimed to have elevation of 3,133 metres (10,279 ft), and the highest point in Saudi Arabia, but in 2020 Al Arabiya (العربية) an official news channel quoted a lower height of 3,015 meters.
The Asir Mountains is a mountainous region in southwestern Saudi Arabia running parallel to the Red Sea. It comprises areas in the Region of 'Asir, but generally, it also includes areas near the border with Yemen. The mountains cover approximately 100,000 square kilometres (40,000 sq mi) and consists of mountains, plains, and valleys of the Arabian highlands. Sensu lato, they are part of the Sarawat Mountains, defining the latter as the mountain range which runs parallel to the Tihamah throughout the western portion of the Arabian Peninsula, particularly the western parts of Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
Al-Hadā mountain resort city is a city in Makkah Province, in western Saudi Arabia near Ta'if. Having many five star hotels and theme Parks, it is attractive for tourists. Nearby is Jabal Hada.
As-Sayl Al-Kabīr is a village in Makkah Region, western Saudi Arabia, which is located some distance from the city of Taif. Abdullah ibn Abbas narrated that his cousin, the Islamic Prophet Muhammad, had fixed Qarn al-Manāzil as the miqat for the people of Najd. It has also been used as a miqat by people coming from places like Oman, the U.A.E., Pakistan, Malaysia and Australia.

The wildlife of Saudi Arabia is substantial and varied. Saudi Arabia is a very large country forming the biggest part of the Arabian Peninsula. It has several geographic regions, each with a diversity of plants and animals adapted to their own particular habitats. The country has several extensive mountain ranges, deserts, highlands, steppes, hills, wadis, volcanic areas, lakes and over 1300 islands. The Saudi Arabian coastline has a combined length of 2,640 km (1,640 mi) and consists of the Gulf of Aqaba and the Red Sea to the west while a shorter eastern coastline can be found along the Persian Gulf.
Neom is a new urban area planned by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be built in its northwestern Tabuk Province. The site is north of the Red Sea, east of Egypt across the Gulf of Aqaba and south of Jordan. The total planned area of Neom is 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi). The city's plans include multiple regions, including a floating industrial complex, global trade hub, tourist resorts and a linear city powered by renewable energy sources. It was launched in 2017 by Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The Shammar Mountains is a mountain range in the northwestern Saudi Arabian province of Ha'il. It includes the Ajā (أَجَا) and Salma subranges.
The Fifa Mountains or Faifa Mountains are located in the vicinity of the town of Faifa' in Jizan Province, southwest Saudi Arabia.
