Species within the genus Atenia include:
Karl Hermann Johannes Thiele was a German zoologist specialized in malacology. Thiele was born in Goldap, East Prussia. His Handbuch der systematischen Weichtierkunde is a standard work. From 1904 until his retirement in 1925 he was the curator of the malacological collection at the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin. Thiele described more than 1.500 new species of molluscs; until today their types are deposited with the Museum of Natural History in Berlin. Especially important are his works on the Mollusca of the First German Antarctica Expedition and of the German Deep Sea Expedition aboard the vessel Valdivia.
Sphaeroceridae are a family of true flies in the order Diptera, often called small dung flies, lesser dung flies or lesser corpse flies due to their saprophagous habits. They belong to the typical fly suborder Brachycera as can be seen by their short antennae, and more precisely they are members of the section Schizophora. There are over 1,300 species and about 125 genera accepted as valid today, but new taxa are still being described.
Oswald Duda, full name Pavel Theodor Friedrich Oswald Duda was a German entomologist mainly interested in Diptera.
Theba arinagae is a species of land snail in the family Helicidae, the typical snails. It is endemic to the Canary Islands, where it is known only from the top of a volcano. Its entire range is about 4 square kilometers and it is considered a critically endangered species.
Theba is a taxonomic genus of air-breathing land snails, medium-sized pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Helicidae, the true snails.
Helicopsis striata is a species of air-breathing land snail, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Geomitridae.
Allancastria deyrollei is a butterfly belonging to the family Papilionidae. It was described by Oberthür in 1869. It is found only in western Iran, Turkey, Syria, northwestern Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, and Israel.
Helicodontidae is a family of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the superfamily Helicoidea.
Carychium is a genus of very small air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Ellobiidae.
Ponentina is a genus of small air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Geomitridae. the hairy snails and their allies.
Adolph Cornelis 'Dolf' van Bruggen was a Dutch malacologist, entomologist, and botanist. His interest in the tropics and tropical Africa has dominated his broad scientific interest for more than 50 years now. He was an expert especially in the land snail families Streptaxidae, Achatinidae and Maizaniidae. As of 2008, he had authored some 655 scientific publications.
Inchoatia is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Clausiliidae, the door snails.
Parthenina willeminae is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Pyramidellidae, the pyrams and their allies.
Isognomostoma is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the subfamily Ariantinae of the family Helicidae, the typical snails.
Schileykula is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Orculidae. All of the species and subspecies in this genus inhabit Turkey, with the exception of the subspecies Schileykula scyphus crass, which lives in Iran.
Limosininae is a subfamily of flies belonging to the family Sphaeroceridae, the lesser dung flies.
