Balvantray Mehta Vidya Bhawan Anguridevi Shersingh Memorial Academy, abbreviation BMVB ASMA) is a senior-secondary co-educational integrated English-medium public school located in the South district of New Delhi, India, in Greater Kailash-II. [1] The school fulfils the vision and dream of Sher-E- Punjab, Lala Lajpat Rai. [2] it is rated a model school by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, government of India, in the field of integrated and inclusive education. [3] The school covers an area of three acres which includes the playground and school building.

History

The school was established and was affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 1999. The school adheres to the concepts of Servants of the People Society founded by Lala Lajpat Rai, Sher-e-Punjab.

The school organizes an annual sports meet for special and general students. [4] [5]

Lala Lajpat Rai was an Indian freedom fighter, politician, and author, generally known as Lala Lajpat Rai. He was popularly known as Punjab Kesari, and also as 'Punjab da Sher' which literally means the 'Lion of Punjab'. He was one of the three members of the Lal Bal Pal trio. He died of severe head trauma injuries sustained 18 days earlier during a baton charge by police in Lahore, when he led a peaceful protest march against the all-British Simon Commission Indian constitutional reforms.

Thana Bhawan is a town in Shamli district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. District Shamli is a newly constructed district. Servants of the People Society (SOPS) is a non-profit social service organization founded by Lala Lajpat Rai, a prominent leader in the Indian Independence movement, in 1921 in Lahore. The society is devoted to "enlist and train national missionaries for the service of the motherland". It was shifted to India, following the partition of India in 1947, and functioned from the residence of Lala Achint Ram, a founder member and Lok Sabha, M.P. at 2-Telegraph Lane, New Delhi. In 1960, after the construction of the new building its shifted to Lajpat Bhawan, Lajpat Nagar, in Delhi. Today, it has branches in many parts of India.

Balwant Rai Mehta Vidya Bhawan Senior Secondary School is a co-educational high school in the Lajpat Nagar neighborhood of south Delhi, India. The second branch of the school was opened at Majid Moth near Greater Kailash-II.
