Sion is a neighbourhood of Mumbai. In the 17th century the village formed the boundary between Mumbai and Salsette Island. The British named it marking the end of the city. The name remained even after Mumbai was joined to the Salsette and extended up to Mulund. One of the local historical places in Sion is a hilltop garden commonly known as Sion Fort or Sheevon Killa in the Marathi language.
Dadar ([d̪aːd̪əɾ]) is a densely populated residential and shopping neighbourhood in Mumbai. It is also a prominent railway and bus service hub with local and national connectivity. It is Mumbai’s first planned area and it a hub for the city's Marathi culture. It includes the Dadar West area.
Mahim (Marathi: माहिम) is a neighbourhood in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The Mahim Junction railway station on the Western Railway and Harbour Railway of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network is the last station of the city, as neighboring Bandra comes in Mumbai Suburb. Mahim is an ethnically and religiously diverse town and has a Hindu temple, church, mosque and Parsi fire-temple existing within a few meters of each other. The town has a large Rich and Upper Middle class Marathi population.
Vile Parle (IPA:[ʋilepaːɾle], also known as Parla), is a suburb and also the name of the railway station in the Western suburb of Mumbai. Vile Parle has a significantly strong base of Gujarati and Marathi population. It serves as the location of the first Parle factory which ceased operations in the year 2016. It also houses Terminal 2 (T2) of Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
Churchgate is an area in the southern part of Mumbai, close to the Arabian Sea. The area is known for its unique architecture consisting of art deco style residential buildings, access to sporting venues, and the business district of Nariman Point.
Goregaon ([ɡoːɾeɡaːʋ]) is a suburb of Mumbai city, in the Mumbai Suburban district of India. It has a railway station on the Mumbai suburban railway on the Western Line. An extension of the Harbour Line was completed in 2018 because of which it has regular trains to CSMT on the Harbour line. This is in addition to existing trains to Churchgate on the Western Line. Owing to the rapid urbanization and growing population of metropolitan Mumbai, Goregaon, which was once merely a hilly forest region is now a crowded suburb of Mumbai.
Airoli is a residential and commercial area of Navi Mumbai in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The name Airoli Node is derived from Airoli-Diva Gaon the largest village prominent in the node node.
Malad is a suburb located in North Mumbai. Malad has a railway station on the Western line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, lying between Kandivali station to the north and Goregaon station to the south. The railway tracks of the Western Line divide Malad into Malad (West) and Malad (East). It has a large Gujarati and Marathi population. Also located in Malad is a prominent office commercial space extending from the back of the two prominent shopping malls Inorbit Mall & Infiniti Mall. Marve Beach and Aksa Beach are Located in Malad.
Somaiya Vidyavihar University is a private university located in the Vidyavihar suburb of Mumbai. It is the second largest campus in Mumbai, superseded only by the Powai campus of the Indian Institute of Technology. Its campus is approximately 60 acres (24 ha).

Kandivali formerly Khandolee is a suburb in the north of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India and has a large Gujarati, Marathi, Koli population followed by others. British records highlight a fact which is different from what is suggested in the rest of the article. The area names that ends with "vali" were the actual valleys to the small hills surrounding the area, and that's how we have Kandolee Valley to Kandivali.
The Western Suburbs is the western precinct of the city of Mumbai, India. The Western Suburbs consist of Andheri, Bandra, Bhayander, Borivali, Dahisar, Goregaon, Jogeshwari, Juhu, Kandivali, Khar, Malad, Mira Road, Santacruz and Vile Parle. Geographically, the Western Suburbs lie at the western part of Salsette Island, is a continuous urban sprawl spanning the areas from Bandra to Bhayander, which is separated by the Vasai Creek from Vasai-Virar city and Mithi River from Mumbai city district.
