Sion is a neighbourhood of Mumbai. In the 17th century the village formed the boundary between Mumbai and Salsette Island. The British named it marking the end of the city. The name remained even after Mumbai was joined to the Salsette and extended up to Mulund. One of the local historical places in Sion is a hilltop garden commonly known as Sion Fort or Sheevon Killa in the Marathi language.

Vile Parle (IPA:[ʋilepaːɾle], also known as Parla), is a suburb and also the name of the railway station in the Western suburb of Mumbai. Vile Parle has a significantly strong base of Marathi population. It serves as the location of the first Parle factory which ceased operations in the year 2016. It also houses Terminal 2 (T2) of Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

An extension of the Harbour Line was completed in 2018 due to which it has regular trains to CSMT. This is in addition to existing trains to Churchgate on the Western Line. Owing to rapid urbanization and the growing population of metropolitan Mumbai, Goregaon, which was once a hilly forest region is now a crowded suburb of Mumbai.

Malad is a suburb located in North Mumbai. Malad has a railway station on the Western line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, lying between Kandivali station to the north and Goregaon station to the south. The railway tracks of the Western Line divide Malad into Malad (West) and Malad (East). It has a large Marathi population. Also located in Malad is a prominent office commercial space extending from the back of the two prominent shopping malls Inorbit Mall & Infiniti Mall. Marve Beach and Aksa Beach are Located in Malad.

Somaiya Vidyavihar University is a private university located in the Vidyavihar suburb of Mumbai, India. Established in 2019, it offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various fields, including arts and humanities, science and technology, engineering, teacher education, research, management, commerce and business studies, sports, religion and culture, and entrepreneurship.

Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics is a premier college for commerce and economics affiliated to University of Mumbai. The college was established in 1964 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal. It was awarded a re-accreditation 'A' grade and 3.42 GPA in the first cycle assessment conducted by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The college has been consistently ranked among the top colleges for commerce and economics education in India.

The Shikshan Prasarak Mandali, Pune, is one of the private educational societies in Maharashtra. It was established in 1883 with the aim of imparting western education in Marathi language but without any help from the then British government. The Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya (NuMaVi) was established by this society in the same year in the memory of Marathi writer and scholar Vishnushastri Chiplunkar. In 1916 it went on to establish the New Poona College for arts.

The Shivaji Park Residential Zone is a precinct consisting of 187 residential buildings that were built as part of the Shivaji Park scheme in Dadar, Mumbai. Most of the buildings in this residential locality were constructed in the early 1900s during British colonial rule in India, as a result of which many buildings here exhibit aspects of British architecture.
