Vile Parle (IPA:[ʋilepaːɾle], also known as Parla), is a suburb and also the name of the railway station in the Western suburb of Mumbai. Vile Parle has a significantly strong base of Gujarati and Marathi population. It serves as the location of the first Parle factory which ceased operations in the year 2016. It also houses Terminal 2 (T2) of Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics is a premier college for commerce and economics affiliated to University of Mumbai. The college was established in 1964 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal. It was awarded a re-accreditation 'A' grade and 3.42 GPA in the first cycle assessment conducted by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies is a private deemed university located in Mumbai. The University also has campuses at Shirpur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Indore and Navi Mumbai and two upcoming campuses in Dhule and Chandigarh. It has 17 constituent schools that offer both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in management, engineering, commerce, pharmacy, architecture, economics, mathematical sciences, hospitality, science, law, aviation, liberal arts, performing arts, architecture & design. It is accredited by NAAC with 3.59 CGPA and Grade A+. NMIMS was also awarded Category I University status by MoE.

Shirpur is a town and taluka in Dhule district of Nashik Division, Maharashtra, India. It is located on National Highway 3, which runs from Agra in Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai, Maharashtra. The Arunavati River and Tapi river flows through the city. Shirpur is 50 km from the city of Dhule. It houses Asia's largest and India's first gold refinery. Labour India Public School is a residential school in Marangattupilly, Kerala, India. It offers classes from pre-Kindergarten to Junior College. Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Arts, Science and Commerce, also known as UPG College, is a college in Vile Parle, Mumbai, India that is affiliated with the University of Mumbai. It is a branch of the SVKM Group Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal.

Amrishbhai Rasiklal Patel is an Indian politician belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He started his political career in the Shirpur as an independent politician, and was the President of Shirpur Municipal Corporation, a four-time legislator from Shirpur as an Indian National Congress candidate, who has never lost an assembly election, and was also a state government cabinet minister. He joined Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019.
