Belgium's broadcaster for the Eurovision Song Contest on even-numbered years, Radio-télévision belge de la Communauté française (RTBF), announced its intent to participate in the 2024 contest on 16 August 2023. [21] 14 days later, Mustin was announced as the country's representative for the contest, with the song scheduled to come out sometime in February 2024. [7] The song officially premiered on 20 February. [1]

At Eurovision

The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 took place at the Malmö Arena in Malmö, Sweden, and consisted of two semi-finals held on the respective dates of 7 and 9 May and the final on 11 May 2024. During the allocation draw on 30 January 2024, Belgium was drawn to compete in the second semi-final, performing in the second half of the show. [22] Mustin was later drawn to perform 12th in the semi-final, after Georgia's Nutsa Buzaladze and before Estonia's duo of 5miinust and Puuluup. [23]

The Eurovision performance featured the singer in an Elke Oost-designed outfit [24] surrounded by a circle of microphones and smoke. [25]

Belgium has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 65 times since making its debut as one of seven countries at the first contest in 1956. The only countries with more appearances are Germany (67), France (66) and the United Kingdom (66). Belgium have been absent only three times in total, in 1994, 1997 and 2001, due to low scores in the previous contests that relegated them from the contest. Belgium has won the contest once, in 1986.

The Barbara Dex Award was a fan-voted accolade awarded annually to the worst-dressed contestant in the Eurovision Song Contest. The award was created by the fansite The House of Eurovision in 1997, which hosted it until the site's closure in 2016. Songfestival.be presented the award from 2017 onwards, changing its criterion to the "most striking look" in 2019. Ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, the award was succeeded by the You're a Vision Award, which was intended to carry a more positive connotation.

Belgium participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the song "Mother" written by Ashley Hicklin and Rafael Artesero. The song was performed by Axel Hirsoux. The Belgian entry for the 2014 contest in Copenhagen, Denmark was selected through the national final Eurosong 2014, organised by the Flemish broadcaster Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroeporganisatie (VRT). The competition featured thirty competing acts and consisted of seven shows. In the final on 16 March 2014, "Mother" performed by Axel Hirsoux was selected as the winner via the votes of seven international jury groups and a public televote.

Belgium participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Rhythm Inside" written by Loïc Nottet and Beverly Jo Scott. The song was performed by Loïc Nottet, who was internally selected by the Walloon broadcaster Radio Télévision Belge de la Communauté Française (RTBF) in November 2014 to represent the nation at the 2015 contest in Vienna, Austria. The song, "Rhythm Inside", was presented to the public on 10 March 2015.

"Rhythm Inside" is a song by Belgian singer Loïc Nottet. It was released as his debut single on 10 March 2015 for radio airplay, while Sony Music Entertainment distributed it digitally one day later. The track was written by Nottet alongside Beverly Jo Scott, while production was solely handled by Luuk Cox. Previously, Nottet had participated in his native singing competition The Voice Belgique in 2014—where he finished second and thus rose to prominence—and had chosen Scott's team. "Rhythm Inside" has been described as an alternative-inspired pop, new wave, R&B, electro, soul and hip hop song, with its minimalistic instrumentation consisting of finger clicks, percussion and synthesizer pads. "Rhythm Inside" lyrically discusses moral universalism.

Belgium participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "What's the Pressure" written by Sanne Putseys, Louis Favre, Birsen Uçar and Yannick Werther. The song was performed by Laura Tesoro. The Belgian entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden was selected through the national final Eurosong 2016, organised by the Flemish broadcaster Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroeporganisatie (VRT). The competition featured five competing acts and consisted of two presentation shows and a final. In the final on 17 January 2016, the winner was selected over two rounds of voting: the first selected the top two via the votes of ten international jury groups and a public televote, while the second selected the winner solely by public televoting. "What's the Pressure" performed by Laura Tesoro was the winner after placing first during both rounds of voting.

Belgium participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "City Lights" written by Pierre Dumoulin, Emmanuel Delcourt and Ellie Delvaux. The song was performed by Blanche, which is the artistic name of singer Ellie Delvaux who was internally selected by the Walloon broadcaster Radio Télévision Belge de la Communauté Française (RTBF) in November 2016 to represent the nation at the 2017 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. Ellie Noa Blanche Delvaux, better known mononymously as Blanche, is a Belgian singer and songwriter. Blanche previously competed on season five of The Voice Belgique, where she was a member of Team Cats on Trees.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was planned to be the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It would have taken place in Rotterdam, Netherlands, following the country's victory at the 2019 contest with the song "Arcade" by Duncan Laurence. This edition was the first and only one in the contest's history to be cancelled, with it being called off on 18 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jérémie Makiese is a Belgian singer and footballer, who rose to fame after winning The Voice Belgique 2021. He represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song "Miss You".

As part of his career he has released two albums 21st Century Boy and It's Happening Now, which have both peaked inside the top ten of the Belgian Albums Charts. Elsewhere it reached the charts in Australia, Lithuania, Sweden, Netherlands, and UK.

It was written by Ada Satka and Darko Dimitrov, and represented Georgia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, where it placed 21st in the grand final with 34 points. In the process, the song became the first Georgian entry to qualify for the grand final since 2016.
