BIG Tamil Entertainment Award is an accolade presented by the Reliance Broadcast Network Limited under three broad categories: Television, Film, Arts. Part of the BIG Regional Entertainment Awards, the awards were presented first in 2011 for the best of 2010. [1] The ceremony was held on 26 March 2011. The media partner was The Hindu and the broadcast partner was Vijay TV . [2] The winners were elected by people's voting.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is an Indian film score and soundtrack composer and singer-songwriter. He mainly scores music for Tamil films. He was subsequently given a chance by actor Silambarasan to feature in a supporting role in Manmadhan (2004) and then was signed on to appear in a host of films, notably winning good reviews for his work in Sachien (2005) and Polladhavan (2007). He appeared in a one-off leading role in Shankar's production Arai En 305-il Kadavul (2008) and became a staple feature as a comedian in successful Tamil films during the period, with his market popularity helping stuck films find distributors.

Chinmayi Indian playback singer

Chinmayi Sripada is an Indian playback singer, working mainly for the South Indian film industry. She is also a voice actor, television presenter and radio jockey. She is the founder and CEO of a translation services company Blue Elephant. She is often credited as Chinmayee and Indai Haza, but her birth name is Chinmayi. She rose to fame for her critically acclaimed song "Oru Deivam Thantha Poovae" from the National Award winning movie Kannathil Muthamittal.

<i>Lollu Sabha</i> Indian television series

Lollu Sabha is a 2004-2007 Indian Tamil-language comedy series starring N. Santhanam, Swaminathan, Jeeva, Balaji, Manohar and Jangiri Madhumitha. It was broadcast on STAR Vijay. Each episode of the series was a spoof of a Tamil feature film or television show. The show garnered critical acclaim. Lollu Sabha aired 156 episodes. Comedy actor Santhanam, Swaminathan, Yogi Babu and Madhumitha are widely considered among the best finds of the show.

<i>Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa</i> 2010 film by Gautham Menon

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by Gautham Menon, featuring Silambarasan and Trisha in the lead roles. Jointly produced Elred Kumar, Jayaraman, VTV Ganesh and P. Madan under the banner Escape Artists Motion Pictures and RS Infotainment, the film was distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies. The story was simultaneously shot in Telugu as Ye Maaya Chesave, starring Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, however, with a different cast and climax.

<i>Naan Mahaan Alla</i> (2010 film) 2010 Indian action film by Suseenthiran

Naan Mahaan Alla is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by Suseenthiran. It stars Karthi, Kajal Aggarwal, Jayaprakash and Soori. Featuring music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography handled by R. Madhi, the film was produced by K. E. Gnanavelraja and distributed by Dayanidhi Azhagiri's Cloud Nine Movies. Set in Chennai, the film follows Jeeva, an unemployed and carefree young man whose father becomes the target of a gang of young criminals after witnessing a kidnapping.

The Vijay Awards are presented by the Tamil television channel STAR Vijay to honour excellence in Tamil cinema. It has been given annually since 2006, with the latest—the 10th edition—of the award-giving ceremony having been held in May 2018. The awards are decided by a jury, consisting of noted film-makers, critics and technicians, while winners in a separate category named "Favourite awards" are chosen by public voting. <i>Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa</i> (soundtrack) 2010 soundtrack album by A. R. Rahman

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is the soundtrack of the 2010 Tamil romance film of the same name, directed by Gautham Menon. The soundtrack album and background score were composed by A. R. Rahman, collaborating with Gautham Menon for the first time. The lyrics for the songs were penned by Menon's usual associate, Thamarai along with Kalyani Menon and Kaithapram, the latter penning the Malayalam lyrics in the album. The album was released on 25 December 2009 in London with several film personalities participating at the grand function. It was the first time that a Tamil film audio release was held in London. It was followed by an audio launch function which was also held in Chennai on 6 January 2010. Sony Music released the album worldwide. The album opened to critical acclaim from music critics. The audio was marked as #1 in Asia, in terms of advance bookings. The album was ranked among the best musicals of 2010. A collector's edition of the film was released on 1 December 2010, which featured two unreleased tracks. The same soundtrack album was reused in the simultaneous Telugu version Ye Maaya Chesave (2010) and its Hindi remake Ekk Deewana Tha (2011).

The Big STAR Entertainment Awards were presented annually by Reliance Broadcast Network Limited in association with Star India to honour personalities from the field of entertainment across movies, music, television, sports, theatre and dance. The award is touted to be a completely viewer driven award where in audience participation right from nominations to the final winners through SMS and online voting across the categories is used for deciding the winners. The award was announced on 12 December 2010 and the first ever nominations for 2010 Awards were published online through various entertainment websites on 15 December. The last award ceremony happened in 2015.

Azhagu Kutti Chellam is a 2016 Tamil children film written and directed by Charles. The film stars child actors Krisha Kurup, Chanakyaa, Yazhini, Rajesh, and Ken Karunas. Akhil and Riythvika play supporting roles while Ved Shankar composes the film's music. Having been in the making since 2013, the film released on 1 January 2016 to highly positive reviews. The film's title came from a song in Vasanth's Satham Podathey.

Vijay Television Awards

The Vijay Television Awards are an awards ceremony held to honour the cast and crew of Tamil soap operas and other shows which air on Vijay TV. This is the second time of the Tamil television industry where awards are given for performances in television serials and shows. The first edition of the awards show was held on 24 May 2014; the second one was held on 19 September 2015.
