"Boogie 2nite" is a song by American singer Tweet from her debut studio album, Southern Hummingbird (2002). Tweet co-wrote the song with its producers, Nisan Stewart and John "Jubu" Smith. It was released on October 28, 2002, as the album's third and final single. The single's B-side, "Smoking Cigarettes", was also released as a promotional CD single. [2] A music video for "Boogie 2nite" and "Smoking Cigarettes" was directed by Little X and filmed in Toronto over the weekend of September 28–29, 2002, but it was ultimately cancelled. [3] "Boogie 2nite" was included on the soundtrack to the 2002 action thriller film The Transporter . [4]

In 2006, the song was covered by English dance music duo Booty Luv, whose version peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart. Following the release of Booty Luv's cover, Tweet's original song reached number 167 on the UK chart. [5]

"Boogie 2nite" was originally remixed by Seamus Haji. A cover version of his remix by English dance music duo Booty Luv was then recorded for their debut studio album, Boogie 2nite (2007). The song was released on November 20, 2006, as the album's lead single via the Hed Kandi label. The single peaked at number two during its third week on the UK Singles Chart. Haji's remix of the track was promoted as the main version of the single, while the DB Boulevard version was used for the music video. The song is also featured in the 2009 expansion pack game Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony .

Following the release of Booty Luv's 2009 single "Say It", "Boogie 2nite" re-entered the UK Dance Singles Chart at number 31 in September 2009, three years after its original release. [15]

Southern Hummingbird is the debut studio album by American singer Tweet, released on April 2, 2002, by The Goldmind Inc. and Elektra Records. The album features production by Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott, Timbaland, Craig Brockman, Nisan Stewart, guitarist John "Jubu" Smith, and Tweet herself. It also features guest vocals by Elliott, Bilal, and Ms. Jade, and included a bonus track performed by Elliott, "Big Spender", which samples the song of the same name from the 1966 musical Sweet Charity.

Re-Entry is the second album released by UK R&B/hip-hop collective Big Brovaz. After the album was delayed in May 2006, the band finally release the follow-up to "Nu Flow" on 9 April 2007. Following the first single, "Yours Fatally" and the second single "Hangin' Around", the third single from the album, "Big Bro Thang", was received a staggered download only single release in February and March 2007. The album release also contain the Booty Luv hit "Boogie 2nite" as a bonus track.

It is the first original single release from the duo, with their previous singles being covers, and was written and produced by Swedish producer Carl Rydén with songwriting credits from both group members, Nadia and Cherise, as well as Samantha Powell.

Cherise Roberts is an English singer and songwriter who is a member of dance-pop duo Cherise & Nadia a.k.a. Booty Luv. She is also a former member of the hip hop/R&B group Big Brovaz. She has been with both groups since they both started. Roberts released a solo album, Look Inside before the debut album Nu-Flow by Big Brovaz was released. It only spawned one single, "2nd Best", while the album won a MOBO award.
