Bowie Town Center is an outdoor shopping mall located in Bowie, Maryland that opened in November 2001. [3] The mall is located on Emerald Way near the interchange of US Route 301 and US Route 50. Bowie Town Center has 79 stores including Macy's, Safeway, and LA Fitness. [2]
The town center opened in 2001 with anchors Sears, Hecht's, Barnes & Noble, Old Navy, and Bed Bath & Beyond with Safeway and Best Buy soon to open. [4] Safeway opened in early 2002, with a 65,000 sq ft store that included an in-store Starbucks, a prepared foods department, and a dry cleaners in addition to a redesigned store layout. [5] Hecht's closed on September 9, 2006, and was converted into Macy's. Bed Bath & Beyond closed its doors on September 7, 2012. [6] LA Fitness opened its doors at the former Bed Bath & Beyond space on November 15, 2013. [7] In 2015, Sears Holdings spun off 235 of its properties, including the Sears at Bowie Town Center, into Seritage Growth Properties. [8] On October 15, 2018, it was announced the Sears store would be closing as part of a plan to close 142 stores nationwide as a result of filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The Sears store closed January 6, 2019. Best Buy closed on Sept. 21, 2023. [9]

Hunt Valley Towne Centre, formerly Hunt Valley Mall, is an outdoor shopping mall in northern Baltimore County, Maryland, with 58 stores. The development was constructed following the closure of Hunt Valley Mall in 2000. The new centre started operating in 2003. The anchor stores in existence today include Dick's Sporting Goods, Burlington Coat Factory and Wegmans. Wal-Mart was located at Hunt Valley mall until late October 2007, when it moved two miles south to Cockeysville, Maryland. It was replaced by Best Buy, which closed in May 2012 as part of a nationwide downsizing. Near a gazebo located in the main street area of the center, there is a memorial to Chuck Thompson. Hunt Valley's official mascot was Hunter the Valley Bear prior to redevelopment.

The mall's anchor stores are Macy's, Floor & Decor, and Dillard's Clearance Center. Predating the mall's opening was a Sears department store opened in 1963; this store closed in 2016 and has been razed for redevelopment. JCPenney, another anchor store, closed in 2020. Other major tenants include Premiere Cinemas and Planet Fitness. The mall is managed by UP Development, Inc.
Santa Maria Town Center is an indoor shopping center located in Santa Maria, California. It is located on the junctions of Routes 135 (Broadway) and 166, and Cook Street and Miller Street. Anchored by Macy's and Edwards Theatres, Santa Maria Town Center is the only enclosed shopping center in Santa Barbara County, and is the largest in the Central Coast, totaling about 600,000 square feet (56,000 m2) in area. It is home to a mix of 69 stores and eateries totaling approximately 25 acres (10 ha) of retail space, and features national retailers like Kay Jewelers, Bath & Body Works, Foot Locker, and GNC. Landmark Mall was an American shopping mall in Alexandria, Virginia. Located in a triangle formed by Duke Street, Interstate 395, and Van Dorn Street, the mall opened in 1965 and closed on January 31, 2017. The mall was anchored by Sears, Lord & Taylor and Macy's.

Metcalf South Shopping Center was a shopping mall in Overland Park, Kansas. It opened in 1967, near a large, unique department store called the French Market, which later became a strip mall anchored by Kmart and Hancock Fabrics. The Metcalf South mall itself originally featured two main floors of retail space, although later a third floor of retail space was added, which in recent years became home to office space. It featured two anchor stores, later taken over by Macy's. Sears and the Glenwood Arts movie theater remained open in later years, while Macy's announced the closure of its Metcalf South store in January 2014.
Panama City Mall was a single story enclosed shopping mall in Panama City, Florida. Opened in 1976, it featured J. C. Penney, Gayfers, and Sears as its anchor stores. It is owned and managed by Hendon Properties of Atlanta as of September 2013, purchased from CBL & Associates Properties. The mall closed due to Hurricane Michael and received major damages. It will not be reopening. However, a possible redevelopment of the site was proposed in July 2020 for a potential redevelopment for an open-air retail center with a hotel, residential apartments, and office space, much like Pier Park to the west in Panama City Beach
