Calista is a southern suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Kwinana.

Calista is one of the Kwinana suburbs named after a ship. Calista was one of the first ships to bring settlers to the Swan River Colony. She arrived with 73 passengers on 5 August 1829 under the command of Captain S. Hawkins. Two of the most notable passengers on the ship were Lionel and William Samson. [2]

Thomas Road

Thomas Road is a major west-east road in the far southern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, connecting Rockingham Road in Kwinana's industrial area with Kwinana's urban area, before bridging Perth's agricultural fringe to meet the South Western Highway in Byford, just south of Armadale. Thomas Road was the terminus of the Kwinana Freeway from 1993 until 2002, and presently serves as the terminus of Tonkin Highway after its extension beyond Albany Highway in 2003.

Patterson Road is a major road between Kwinana and Rockingham and is part of Australia's National Route 1 for part of its length. The first part goes through Kwinana's heavy industrial area. After the Ennis Avenue turnoff which takes Highway 1 with it, Patterson Road becomes State Route 18 and goes through the Rockingham Beach area until it turns into Railway Terrace one block from the ocean at Mangles Bay, which is part of the Indian Ocean.

Gilmore Avenue is a main road and suburban distributor in Kwinana south of Perth, and runs through or alongside the suburbs of Medina, Orelia, Calista and Leda, linking them to the Kwinana Freeway via Thomas Road and also to Kwinana Hub Shopping Centre.

SS <i>Kwinana</i>

SS Kwinana was an Australian ocean-going cargo and passenger steamship. She was built in England in 1892 as the cargo ship SS Darius. In 1912 she changed owners, was refitted as a cargo and passenger ship and renamed Kwinana.
