Che'r Cycle (2009) is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language stage drama written by Mamunur Rashid, who himself played the main character, directed by Faiz Zahir staged by Bangla Theatre from Dhaka as a tribute to Che Guevara. [1] [2]
The drama begins with a scene where two men, Ranjan and Shubhro, and a woman named Soheli, were sitting in a beach and having a conversation. Each one of three characters interprets the world in his or her own way. Suddenly with a trance, they transform into Che Guevara, Aleida March, the wife of Guevara, Fidel Castro, and Raul Castro. The events of this play continually switch between times and places and the characters assimilate into each other. [3] The drama captures that time when Che Guevara is on his way to start a revolution. But soon, another character Ranjan gets assimilated with the character Che. [1] [2] Che's understandings and views on life help these three to see the life from a new angle. [4]

The Bengali drama is inspired by Che of Asian People's Theatre (Hong Kong). [4] Other than directing the play Faiz Zahir also designed the set, costume and light. This play was a tribute to Che Guevara. Playwright Mamunur Rashid told–
People like Che existed in every era, in every society. Born in Argentina, Che transcended the geographical border and became synonymous of protest for the oppressed throughout the world. In this 'post-nationalist' era, we need another Che to fight globalisation. Our play places Che in our time where he moves forward upholding his flag of revolution to fight fundamentalism and oppression.
The drama received positive remarks from critics. Starting from 2003 it has been performed both in Bangladesh an abroad. Bangladeshi poet Nirmalendu Goon wrote a poem Che'r Cycle" after watching this drama. [1] Bangladeshi newspaper The Daily Star wrote in their review– "The extraordinary performance of eminent theatre artiste and playwright Mamunur Rashid; Chanchal Chowdhury and Rubly Chowdhury enthralled the huge audience gathered at the venue." Munier Choudhury was a Bangladeshi educationist, playwright, literary critic and political dissident. He was a victim of the mass killing of Bangladeshi intellectuals in 1971. He was awarded Independence Day Award in 1980, by the then President Ziaur Rahman's government, posthumously.

Monpura, is a 2009 Bangladeshi Bengali film, directed by Giasuddin Selim. The film was remade into Indian Bengali in 2010 as Achin Pakhi, which was directed by Anjan Das. Monpura is a romantic tragedy film set in rural Bangladesh. As Selim's large-screen debut, and contemporary-folk soundtrack released ahead of screening which were an instant hit, it received a huge media hype even before its release. The shooting took place in various locations, including Dhunat in Bogra, Kushtia and Dhaka.
Suchinta Chowdhury Chanchal, known as Chanchal Chowdhury, is a Bangladeshi actor. Critically acclaimed for his performances in Rupkothar Golpo (2006), Monpura (2009), Television (2012), Aynabaji (2016), and Debi (2018), he has received two Bangladesh National Film Awards for Best Actor and three Meril Prothom Alo Awards for Best Actor.
Nurul Momen was a Bangladeshi playwright, educator, director, broadcast personality, academician, satirist, essayist, translator and poet. He served as a faculty member in the capacities of professor and dean at the faculty of Law in the University of Dhaka. He also served as a lawyer. He is called "Father of Bangladeshi theatre" and "Natyaguru" of Bangladesh. He was awarded the Bangla Academy Award in 1961, merely a year after its inception. He was also honoured by the People's Republic of Bangladesh with the Ekushey Padak in 1978, only a couple of years after this State honor was introduced.
Nemesis is a play written by Natyaguru Nurul Momen, considered one of the most successful experimental plays in Bengali theatre. It is a play with only one character, written in 1944 and published in the acclaimed literary journal "Shonibarer Chithi" in 1945 & as a book in 1948. Nemesis, a tragedy, set a milestone in the history of Bengali literature because of its unique feature and modern plot. National professor of Bangladesh Kabir Chowdhury explains, “Nemesis is his most famous work. It is an experimental drama where through dialogues the main and only character remembers his past. It shows how a promising personality falls prey to greed and loses his morality. Though it is a play based on one actor, the scope of the plot is wide and a number of other characters come in through the main character's reminiscences.”
Mamunur Rashid is a Bangladeshi actor, director and scriptwriter. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2012 and Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1982 by the Government of Bangladesh.
Theatre in Bangladesh is believed to have its origin in the 4th century AD in the form of Sanskrit drama. The conquest of Bengal by the Gupta dynasty led the ingress of the northern Indian culture into the ancient Bangladeshi culture which eventually introduced the tradition of theatre in Bangladesh. At present, apart from the Sanskrit theatre, the influence of the European theatre and the indigenous folk culture can also be seen in the theatre art of Bangladesh.

Rupkothar Golpo: A Fairy Tale is a 2006 Bangladeshi film directed by Tauquir Ahmed. Impress Telefilm Limited produced and distributed the film.
Ujan Ganger Naiya is a drama series with underlying messages on the negative aspects of early marriages and underage pregnancy which was broadcast in 2014 by the BBC Media Action (BBCMA) Bangladesh. It was premiered on the state-owned television channel BTV and primarily targeted the rural populace of the country. The series was received exceedingly well, reaching 35 million people.
Birangona: Women of War is a British one-act play by Leesa Gazi about the untold true stories of female survivors and sufferers, Birangona, of the Bangladesh Liberation War, during which over 200,000 women were raped and tortured. The theatrical production is dedicated to narrating the stories of war heroines from their perspective.
