Chenar (Persian : چنار‎, also Romanized as Chenār)^[1] is a village in Tirchai Rural District, Kandovan District, Meyaneh County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 61, in 19 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Tirchai Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in Kandovan District, Meyaneh County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 6,923, in 1,894 families. The rural district has 23 villages.

Kandovan District is a district (bakhsh) in Meyaneh County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 24,820 in 5,875 families. The District has one city: Tark. The District has three rural districts (dehestan): Garmeh-ye Shomali Rural District, Kandovan Rural District, and Tirchai Rural District.
