Qarah Tappeh (Persian : قره تپه‎, also Romanized as Qareh Tappeh; also known as Karatepeh, Qarā Tappeh, and Qara Tepe)^[1] is a village in Barvanan-e Sharqi Rural District, Torkamanchay District, Meyaneh County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 122, in 35 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is a pluricentric language primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Barvanan-e Sharqi Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in Torkamanchay District, Meyaneh County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 8,304, in 2,003 families. The rural district has 15 villages.

Torkamanchay District is a district (bakhsh) in Meyaneh County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 25,281, in 5,935 families. The District has one city: Torkamanchay. The District has four rural districts (dehestan): Barvanan-e Gharbi Rural District, Barvanan-e Markazi Rural District, Barvanan-e Sharqi Rural District, and Owch Tappeh-ye Gharbi Rural District.
