Mad Max: Fury Road is a 2015 Australian post-apocalyptic action film co-written, co-produced, and directed by George Miller. Miller collaborated with Brendan McCarthy and Nico Lathouris on the screenplay. The fourth instalment and a "revisiting" of the Mad Max franchise, it was produced by Kennedy Miller Mitchell and RatPac-Dune Entertainment and distributed by Village Roadshow Pictures in Australia and by Warner Bros. Pictures internationally. The film stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Riley Keough, Zoë Kravitz, Abbey Lee, and Courtney Eaton. Set in a post-apocalyptic desert wasteland where petrol and water are scarce commodities, Fury Road follows Max Rockatansky, who joins forces with Imperator Furiosa to flee from cult leader Immortan Joe and his army in an armoured tanker truck, leading to a lengthy road battle.

Since the 3rd Chicago Film Critics Association Awards (1990), the award is presented annually. Nominations from 1991 to 1994 are not available. The first Chicago Film Critics Association Award for Best Cinematography went to Dean Semler for his work on Dances with Wolves. The most recent recipient of this award is Joshua James Richards for Nomadland.

The 27th Chicago Film Critics Association Awards were announced on December 15, 2014. The awards honor the best in film for 2014. The first round ballots were due on December 11, 2014 and the nominations were announced on December 12. Birdman received the most nominations (9), followed by The Grand Budapest Hotel (8) and Boyhood (7).

The 6th Critics' Choice Television Awards, presented by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA), honoring the best in primetime television programming from June 1, 2015 until December 31, 2015, were held on January 17, 2016 at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport in Santa Monica, California. In addition, this year marked the first time the awards were presented with the Critics' Choice Movie Awards. The ceremony was simulcast live on A&E and Lifetime.
