Coleophora caelebipennella is a moth of the family Coleophoridae. It is found in most of Europe, except Great Britain, Ireland, and the Balkan Peninsula. [1] It is also known from Pakistan. [2]
The larvae feed on Artemisia campestris , Artemisia vulgaris , Centaurea , Chrysanthemum , Gnaphalium , Helichrysum arenarium , Helichrysum italicum , Helichrysum italicum serotinum and Helichrysum stoechas . [4] Larvae can be found from September to July.
The genus Helichrysum consists of an estimated 600 species of flowering plants in the sunflower family (Asteraceae). The type species is Helichrysum orientale. They often go by the names everlasting, immortelle, and strawflower. The name is derived from the Ancient Greek words ἥλιος and χρῡσός.
