According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.7 square miles (92.4 km2), of which, 35.1 square miles (90.8 km2) of it is land and 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2) of it (1.74%) is water.
As of the census [2] of 2000, there were 323 people, 117 households, and 87 families residing in the town. The population density was 9.2 people per square mile (3.6/km2). There were 184 housing units at an average density of 5.2 per square mile (2.0/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 98.76% White, 0.93% Native American, and 0.31% from two or more races.
There were 117 households, out of which 29.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.2% were married couples living together, 7.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.8% were non-families. 19.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.76 and the average family size was 3.25.
