The Dallara F308 is an open-wheel formula racing car, designed, developed built by Italian manufacturer Dallara, for Formula Three racing categories, in 2008. It was used in different Formula Three racing categories and competitions between 2008 and 2011. It was later replaced and succeeded by the F312, in 2012. [4] [5]
The F308 can be upgraded to either the F309, the F310, or the F311, through Dallara's annual add-on kits. These include modifications in the area of aerodynamics such as additional air deflectors or similar or improved suspension units. [6]
The F308 is a conventional Formula 3 racing car with a carbon fiber reinforced plastic monocoque, load-bearing mid-engined, and free-standing wheels. The Hewland FTR and the Pankl DGB03 gearbox are homologated for the car. It is shifted manually by means of ignition interruption and shift lever on the right side without the clutch. The front and rear wing elements, the front, and rear crash boxes, and the wheel carriers are also homologated. The bodywork can be done by the teams themselves. For example, the chimneys on the sidepods were removed from all teams in the Euroseries and the sidepods were laminated shut. [6] [7] [8]
An open-wheel car is a car with the wheels outside the car's main body, and usually having only one seat. Open-wheel cars contrast with street cars, sports cars, stock cars, and touring cars, which have their wheels below the body or inside fenders. Open-wheel cars are built both for road racing and oval track racing. Open-wheel cars licensed for use on public roads, such as the Ariel Atom, are uncommon, as they are often impractical for everyday use.
Formula Three, also called Formula 3, abbreviated as F3, is a third-tier class of open-wheel formula racing. The various championships held in Europe, Australia, South America and Asia form an important step for many prospective Formula One drivers.
The Euroformula Open Championship is a junior formula racing series based in Spain. It was one of six national and international Formula Three championships in Europe and Scandinavia that together used to form an important part of the established "career ladder" below Formula One. The championship's first season was held in 2001. In 2006, it was branded as the Spanish F3 Championship by Toyota, in deference to its sole engine supplier. In 2020, the championship ceased to be a F3-championship and will share its specifications with Japan's Super Formula Lights based on the previous-generation Formula Three standards, primarily with a choice of engines.
The FIA Formula 3 European Championship was a European Formula Three (F3) auto racing competition, organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). After one season of the FIA Formula 3 International Trophy, the FIA revived the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. The ten-event season included seven Formula 3 Euro Series rounds, two British Formula Three rounds and DTM-supporting round at Brands Hatch. From 2013, the series started running its own rounds, based upon the defunct Formula 3 Euro Series.
The GB3 Championship is a single seater motorsport series based in the United Kingdom. The championship is the UK's premier single-seater category, and is aimed at young racing drivers moving up from FIA Formula 4 championships or Karting. Having previously been known since 2013 as the BRDC Formula 4 Championship, the championship was renamed the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship with the backing of the FIA in March 2016. The championship was rebranded to GB3 Championship in August 2021.

The Lotus 51 was an open-wheel Formula Ford race car built in 1967 by the British motorsport team Lotus. It was powered by a 1.6 L (98 cu in) Ford Crossflow four-cylinder engine, developing a respectable 110 hp (82 kW), which drove the rear wheels through either a Renault R-8 type 330 4-speed, or a Hewland 5-speed manual transmission.
The Spark-Renault SRT_01E, also known as the SRT01-e or the Spark Gen1, was an electric formula race car designed for the inaugural season of Formula E, in 2014–15. The car was the result of a 10-month collaboration between Spark Racing Technology, McLaren Electronic Systems, Williams Advanced Engineering, Dallara and Renault. The car was used until the end of Formula E's fourth season in 2018, after which it was replaced by the SRT05e.
The 2014 Euroformula Open Championship was a multi-event motor racing championship for single-seat open wheel formula racing cars that was held across Europe. The championship featured drivers competing in two-litre Formula Three racing cars built by Italian constructor Dallara which conformed to the technical regulations, or formula, for the championship. It was the first edition of the Euroformula Open Championship – following a name change in February 2014 – after five seasons at the European F3 Open Championship. It is also included a revived three-round Spanish Formula Three Championship, held within the season calendar.
The Dallara DW12 is an open-wheel formula racing car developed and produced by Italian manufacturer Dallara for use in the IndyCar Series. It was developed for use in the 2012 IndyCar Series season, replacing the aging Dallara IR-05 chassis and scheduled to be used until the 2026 season before being replaced by planned Dallara IR-27 from 2027 season onwards. The chassis is named after Dan Wheldon, who was the car's test driver, and who was killed at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 16, 2011, the final race of the previous IR-05.

A Formula E car is a battery electric open-wheel auto racing car made according to the regulations of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) to take part in the FIA Formula E Championship. Races are mainly driven on closed temporary street circuits designed specifically for this racing category.
The FIA Formula 2 Championship is a second-tier single-seater championship organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Held on racing circuits, the championship was introduced in 2017, following the rebranding of the long-term Formula One feeder series GP2. The Dallara F317 is an open-wheel racing car developed by Italian manufacturer Dallara for use in all Formula Three categories. The F317 is the thirty-seventh car used by the FIA-sanctioned Formula Three championships. Although the F317 is only an aero-upgraded F312 chassis, it works as a replacement for the aging Dallara F312 chassis. However, some series like the Euroformula Open Championship opted for a slightly upgraded F312 chassis instead of the F317 package to keep costs low.
The FIA Formula 3 Championship is a third-tier international single-seater racing championship and organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship launched in 2019 as a feeder series for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship and FIA Formula 2 Championships. It was the result of a merger between two third-tier single-seater racing championships, the GP3 Series and the FIA Formula 3 European Championship as it was announced on 10 March 2018. The Dallara GP2/08 was an open-wheel formula racing car developed by Italian manufacturer Dallara for use in the GP2 Series, a feeder series for Formula One. The GP2/08 was the 2nd-generation car used by the GP2 Series, replacing the GP2/05, which had also been developed by Dallara. The GP2/08 was used from 2008 to 2010, in keeping with the series philosophy of introducing a chassis every 3 years. As the GP2 Series was a spec-formula, the car was utilised by all teams and drivers in the championship.
The Dallara F312 is an open-wheel racing car developed by Italian manufacturer Dallara for use in all Formula Three categories. The car has proved to be one of the most popular Formula 3 Chassis ever, with over 53 of the original type having been produced. Even after its successor the Dallara F317 was introduced, the F312 remained widely used, in championships such as the Euroformula Open Championship and the Japanese Formula 3 Championship.
The Dallara T08 was a racing car developed by Italian manufacturer Dallara for use in the Formula Renault 3.5 series, and was in use from 2008 to 2011. The T08 is the second generation of car used by the World Series by Renault/WS Formula V8 3.5, and was introduced at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours. The carbon tub of the car would later be carried over to its successor, the Dallara T12.
