The East Coast Railway is one of the 19 railway zones of Indian Railways. It came into existence on 1 April 2003. The headquarters of the zone are at Bhubaneswar, Odisha
Angul district; also known as Anugul, is one of the thirty districts of Odisha in eastern India. The city of Angul is the district headquarters of Angul district. A major industrial hub of the state, the district hosts numerous industries relating to coal, bauxite and steel apart from extensive forests including the Satkosia Tiger Reserve.
National Highway 6 & Economic Corridor 1 (EC1), was a National Highway in India that has been separately designated under the new national highway numbering system. It was officially listed as running over 1,949 km (1,211 mi) from Surat to Kolkata. The route was also known as Asian Highway 46 (AH46) & Mumbai - Kolkata Highway and Great Eastern Highway.

The sanctioned personnel strength of Odisha Police is 72,145; comprising women as one-third of its total sanctioned strength in the directly recruited posts of civil constable, sub-inspector and deputy superintendent of police. The Jharsuguda–Vizianagaram line is a railway line in eastern India. It connects Jharsuguda,516 km (321 mi) from Howrah on the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line, and Titlagarh, which in turn is connected with Vizianagaram, 820 km (510 mi) from Howrah on the Howrah–Chennai main line, and Raipur Junction, 830 km (516 mi) from Howrah on the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line. There are several branch lines, like the 176 km (109 mi) line connecting Rayagada with Koraput on the Kothavalasa–Kirandul line. The line traverses Western Odisha and connects the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line with the Howrah–Chennai main line. It covers small portions of Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.
Rourkela Junction railway station is a railway junction located in the north-western part of the Indian state of Odisha and serves Rourkela in Sundergarh district. Rourkela is the third-largest urban agglomeration in Odisha.
Bondamunda railway station, located in the Indian state of Odisha, serves Bondamunda and Rourkela in Sundergarh district.
The Kharagpur–Puri Line is a railway line connecting Kharagpur in the Indian state of West Bengal and Puri in Odisha. The total line can be divided into sections. The Kharagpur–Khurda Road portion of this line, which is a part of the Howrah–Chennai main line and Khurda Road - Puri portion.
The 18451 / 18452 Tapaswini Express is daily Express train between Hatia and Puri. The train was the first Express train to be introduced with a route via Bhubaneswar, Dhenkanal, Talcher, Sambalpur. 18451UP departs Hatia at 15:55 and reaches Puri at 07:15 every day. The 18452DN departs Puri at 20:00 and reaches Hatia at 11:05 every day.

The Bhubaneswar - Dhanbad special fare Express was once a Garib Rath train belonging to the East Coast Railway zone that runs between and Bhubaneswar and Dhanbad in India. It is currently being operated with 02832/02831 train numbers on daily basis as a normal train. In 2017, after the closure of Dhanbad–Chandrapura line, the train was short terminated/originated from Bokaro Steel City railway station. After opening of Dhanbad–Chandrapura line in 2019, it was again extended upto Dhanbad.

The Puri–Durg Express is an Express train belonging to East Coast Railway zone that runs between Durg Junction and Puri in India. It is currently being operated with 18425/18426 train numbers on a daily basis. This train was introduced as Bhubaneswar–Raipur express in 2006. In 2010 it was extended to Puri and Durg.

The Sambalpur–Puri Intercity Express is an Intercity train belonging to East Coast Railway zone that runs between Sambalpur Junction and Puri in India. It is currently being operated with 18303/18304 train numbers on a daily basis. It was introduced in 2002 and one of the oldest trains on Cuttack–Sambalpur line.

The 20836/20835 Puri - Rourkela Vande Bharat Express is India's 32nd Vande Bharat Express train, connecting the city of Puri and terminating at Rourkela city in Odisha. This train was inaugurated on 24 September 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conference from New Delhi.
