Dongguandong (Dongguan East) railway station serves the city of Dongguan in Guangdong province, China. It is located in Dongguan's Changping Town.

The station is configured in an east-west alignment. Trains departing to the east continue along the Beijing–Kowloon railway towards Beijing. To the west, there is a junction where the Beijing–Kowloon railway merges with the Guangzhou–Shenzhen railway. The Guangzhou–Shenzhen railway continues south towards Hong Kong. The Guangzhou–Shenzhen railway continues east through Dongguan railway station then onwards towards Guangzhou. There are also trains to other parts of China and to Shenzhen.

The station has a large main terminal with several floors, that serves trains to Hong Kong. In the main building, there is a customs gate, several shops, a fast food outlet, a ticket booth and office buildings above it. The smaller connected terminal serves domestic trains. It contains a small shop, several ticket machines, and a ticket booth.

Shenzhen Metro Line 11 opened on 28 June 2016. Line 11 has a length of 53.5 km (33.2 mi) and a total of 19 stations. It connects the CBDs of Futian, Nanshan and Qianhai to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport and onward to Fuyong, Shajing and Songgang suburban areas. It serves as both a regional express line from the west coast of Shenzhen to the city core area and an airport rail link. Compared with the other lines of Shenzhen Metro, Line 11 has a longer spacing between stops for a higher speed service. Trains of Line 11 were designed to run at 120 km/h (75 mph), up to 50% faster than other lines, but currently limited to 80 km/h (50 mph) in some sections for infrastructure, tunnel wind pressure, track geometry issues and noise reasons. Construction of Line 11 started in April 2012 and test running begun at the end of March 2016. Trains run at a 4-minute frequency between Futian and Airport North, 8-minute frequency for full length trains during morning rush hours, 5-minute interval for full length during evening rush hours, and 6-minute interval for non-peak hours. Currently it takes slightly more than half an hour to travel from Futian to the Airport. Line 11's color is violet.

The Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region Intercity Railway System is a regional higher-speed rail and suburban rail network being gradually constructed in the Pearl River Delta, People's Republic of China. The project's goal is to have every major urban center in the Yuegang'ao Greater Bay Area to be within one-hour travel by rail to Guangzhou. On March 16, 2005, the State Council approved plans for a regional high-speed commuter rail network for the Jingjinji, Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta. According to the plan, by 2020, the network will have a total route mileage of about 600 kilometres (370 mi). In September 2009, the plan was expanded to 1,478 km (918 mi) of routes split up into 23 lines. In the long term vision network length will reach 1,890 km (1,170 mi) by 2030. By then the network will provide basic coverage to the Pearl River Delta region. The Suishen ICR, Guanhui ICR and Guangfozhao ICR accept Alipay, avoiding the need to purchase tickets in advance.

Line 2 of the Dongguan Rail Transit is a rapid transit line in Dongguan. The line currently has 15 stations and is 37.743 kilometres (23.452 mi) long, from Dongguan railway station to Humen railway station. It opened on 27 May 2016. Construction of Line 2 began in 2010.

Line 3 of the Dongguan Rail Transit is a planned rapid transit line in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, China. It has a planned 24 stations from Dongguan East railway station in the Northeast of Dongguan, to Jiaoyiwan in the south of Dongguan. The construction date for Line 3 has not yet been published.

Dongguan–Huizhou intercity railway, also known as the Guanhui intercity railway or Guanhui City Railway, is a regional railway within Guangdong province, China. It runs between the cities of Dongguan and Huizhou in the Pearl River Delta (PRD). Part of a larger radiating intercity rail transit network, called Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region intercity railway, across the PRD region, directly connecting with the Guangzhou–Shenzhen intercity railway and the planned Foshan–Dongguan intercity railway. Route length is 103.1 kilometres (64.1 mi), with an estimated construction budget of 25.3 billion RMB. The construction period is planned to take three and a half years. 3 renovated and 14 new stations are being built along the route. It has been built with a design speed of 200 kilometres per hour (124 mph). The Xiaojinkou–Changping East section started operations on 30 March 2016.

Guangzhou–Shenzhen intercity railway or Suishen intercity railway is a commuter railway in the Pearl River Delta of Guangdong, China. The construction route traces roughly along the east bank of the Pearl River, connecting Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport. It will feature a length of 73.996 km (45.979 mi) from Xintang South to Shenzhen Airport, operating at a top speed of 140 km/h (87 mph) using CRH6A trains.

Line 10, also known as the Bantian line of the Shenzhen Metro began construction at the end of 2015. The line opened on 18 August 2020. Line 10 has a length of 29.3 km (18.2 mi) and a total of 24 stations. It connects the Futian Checkpoint to Shuangyong Street. In the southern terminus of the line, a 555 meters long and 50.5 meters wide double deck underground depot capable of storing 16 trains will be constructed.

Line 22 of the Guangzhou Metro is a partially open rapid transit express line in Guangzhou with trains operating up to 160 km/h (99 mph). It runs between Panyu Square and Chentougang, passing Guangzhou South Railway Station in Panyu District, and will eventually run in a north-south direction passing Xilang and Fangcun in Liwan District. Currently, there are train attendants on board each train. In the future, trains will operate fully driverless GoA4 mode when sufficient reliability from the signaling system has been confirmed.

Shuqian Lu station is a planned station of Line 10 of Guangzhou Metro. It is planned to be built underground on the north side of Miaoqianzhi Street in Yuexiu District, near Dongshankou station. Due to the lack of transparency of the planning process and the site selection of Dongshan, the historical core area of Guangzhou, this site has caused controversy and attracted much attention.
