Expo 1985 Plovdiv was an international exposition that took place from November 4-30, 1985 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. [1] [2] The exhibition had the theme "The Achievements of Young Inventors". [1] The specialized exhibition was the 24th held by the Bureau International des Expositions and the second held in Plovdiv. [3] Another specialized exposition, Expo '85 in Tsukuba, Japan occurred the same year. [1]

Expo 61

Expo 61 was the international labour exhibition held in 1961 in the Italian City of Turin. It was the 15th specialized exposition recognized by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). Italy used the opportunity to expand the event with an exposition celebrating the centennial of Italian unity. The result is that the exhibition is widely remembered as Italia '61.

ILIS 1936

The ILIS 1936 was an international aviation exhibition held at Lindarängen airport in the Swedish capital Stockholm between 15 May 1936 and 1 June 1936. It was the first specialised exhibition recognised by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). The exposition was held to celebrate the opening of Bromma airport, Europe's first with paved runways. Bromma was inaugurated on 23 May 1936, with the finish of an air race across Sweden that started the day before. At Bromma, some airshows took place on 24 and 25 May 1936. Visitors were transported between Lindarängen and Bromma by autogiro. The indoor and static exhibition was held at Lindarängen a flying boat facility just east of the city centre, currently used as ferry terminal. During the ILIS, visitors to Lindarängen could board a Swedish flying boat to fly over Stockholm.

IVA 65

The IVA 65, was a world's transportation exhibition held in Munich in 1965. It was the 16th specialized exhibition recognized by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).

The International Exhibition in Plovdiv was an international exhibition that was held from June 7 to July 7 of 1991 in the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, under the theme of "The creative activity of young inventors at the service of a world peace." The exhibition was coordinated by the Bureau International des Expositions.

The Plovdiv International Exhibition of 1981 was regulated by the Bureau International des Expositions and took place from June 14 to July 12, 1981 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The exhibition had an area of 51 hectares. The sample application was filed on June 12, 1980 registering the event as a specialized exposition.

Expo 2025

Expo 2025 is a forthcoming World Expo organised by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), which will be held in Osaka, Japan. It will take place for six months during 2025, opening 13 April 2025, and closing 13 October 2025. This will be the third time Osaka hosts a World Expo, having previously hosted Expo 1970 and Expo 1990. The projected visitor count is approximately 28 million.

Expo 2023 Upcoming specialized exhibition

Expo 2023 was the name given to an upcoming specialized exhibition that was initially scheduled to be held in 2023 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) awarded Buenos Aires as the host on November 15, 2017. This was to have been the first time that a BIE Expo was held in Argentina, and the first in Latin America since BIE's creation. The 1875 exposition was the last one held in Latin America. In October 2020, Argentina announced that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing financial crisis, the Expo would not be held as planned in 2023, although the door was left open by both Argentina and the BIE to possibly reschedule the Expo for a later date.

Expo mascots have been used at Bureau International des Expositions approved World's fairs since the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition. Seymore D. Fair, was the official mascot of the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition as well as the first mascot at any world's fair, and was followed by many more whimsical character mascots.

2023 World Horticultural Exposition or Expo 2023 is an International Horticultural Expo to be hosted by Doha, Qatar. The Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha will begin on 14 October 2023 and conclude on the 17 March 2024. The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) general assembly in Paris formally recognised it on 22 November 2018 as an International Horticultural Exhibition. The Expo will be organized under the theme "Green Desert, Better Environment". An 80 hectare site has been identified.
