Fashion Square Mall is an enclosed shopping mall located in the northern edge of Saginaw Charter Township, Michigan. It lies within the boundaries of M-84 (Bay Road) to the west, Tittabawassee Road to the north, Fashion Square Blvd. to the east, and Schust Road to the south. The mall serves the city of Saginaw, its suburbs, and the greater Great Lakes Bay Region . It features more than 100 tenants, [2] including a food court, and its anchor stores are JCPenney and Macy's. [2]
Fashion Square Mall opened on October 4, 1972 with JCPenney and Sears as its major anchor stores. [3] Hudson's, a chain based in Detroit, Michigan, was added in 1976 to the eastern end, as a third major anchor. [4] The mall also included branches of two local department stores: William C. Wiechmann Company and Heavenrich's, [5] the former of which was liquidated in 1992. [6] In 1981, the mall was part of a lawsuit involving the lease of a Big Boy restaurant which operated within. [7] CBL Properties bought the mall from its developer, Richard E. Jacobs Group, in 2000. [8]
A$10 million mall-wide renovation was completed in 2001, with the addition of new seating areas, family restrooms, and automatic doors. The same year, reflecting nameplate consolidation by Hudson's parent Target Corp., the mall's eastern anchor was re-branded as Marshall Field's, and by 2006, Marshall Field's would be among several nameplates to be converted to the Macy's name. Dunham's Sports also moved out in the 2000s, with Steve & Barry's taking its place in 2005. [9] Steve & Barry's closed in December 2008 after the chain declared bankruptcy. [10] McDonald's closed its food court location in January 2009, [11] as did a Garfield's restaurant in May, only six months after opening in a space vacated by Ruby Tuesday. [12] The Shoe Department Encore replaced the former Steve & Barry's space in mid-2010. [13]

In January 2010, the JCPenney store underwent a remodel, including the addition of a Sephora cosmetics store. [19] Further renovations in 2011 included the addition of Dressbarn and Maurices clothing stores, plus a local restaurant called Willow Tree in the former Ruby Tuesday/Garfield's space. [20] An H&M opened in fall 2016. [21]
On August 6, 2019, it was announced that Sears would be closing as part of a plan to close 26 stores nationwide. The store closed in October 2019. [22]
In September 2020, Namdar Realty Group requested a deed in lieu to give up Fashion Square Mall. [23] As a result, the mall is now managed by the Farbman Group. [24] Kohan Retail Investment Group bought the mall at auction for $10.8 million in September 2022. [1]
University Mall, previously University Square Mall, is a shopping mall located near the University of South Florida, just north of the city limits of Tampa on Fowler Avenue. The property is located just east of I-275.
Westmoreland Mall is a two-level, enclosed super-regional shopping and casino complex in the municipality of Hempfield Township, Pennsylvania, southeast of Pittsburgh, and owned and operated by CBL Properties. It was completed in 1977 and was extensively renovated and expanded in 1993–1994. The mall features retailers JCPenney, Macy's, and Macy's Home, in addition to Live! Casino Pittsburgh and a future Dick's House of Sport store in the space formerly occupied by Sears.

Genesee Valley Center is an enclosed shopping mall located in Flint Township, Michigan, outside the city of Flint, Michigan, United States. Opened in 1970, the mall is 1,272,397 square feet (118,209.5 m2) of leasable area. The mall has two anchor tenants: JCPenney and Macy's. It comprises more than 120 tenants, including a food court, and an external concourse called the Outdoor Village which also features a Barnes & Noble bookstore. The mall is located on Miller Road and Linden Road, near the junction of Interstate 69 (I-69) and I-75.
Green Tree Mall is a shopping mall located in Clarksville, Indiana, United States. The mall is located off of I-65 about four miles north of downtown Louisville. It has a total area of 795,382 square feet (73,893 m2). It was named for a large boundary tree of considerable age that once stood at the location. Currently, there are more than 80 inline stores and 2 major anchor stores. The third anchor was Sears which closed on October 1, 2017. The mall is managed by Namdar Realty. Green Tree Mall is a retail anchor for the Clarksville area.
Acadiana Mall is an enclosed regional shopping mall in the city of Lafayette, Louisiana, located at the intersection of Johnston Street and Ambassador Caffery Parkway. It opened in 1979 and was developed by Robert B. Aikens & Associates, but is now owned by Namdar Realty Group. Currently, Acadiana Mall houses three department store anchors. In 2015, Sears Holdings spun off 235 of its properties, including the Sears at Acadiana Mall, into Seritage Growth Properties. Sears closed in September 2017 leaving its site vacant. On June 4, 2020, it was announced that JCPenney would be closing as part of a plan to close 154 stores nationwide. However this store was removed from the closing list on July 13, 2020.
Oak Hollow Mall, once a thriving regional shopping destination with more than 80 operational stores, experienced a significant decline, culminating in its closure in 2017 when only 11 stores remained. High Point University now owns the majority of the former mall building. Situated at the intersection of Eastchester Drive and East Hartley Drive in High Point, North Carolina, it had an important retail presence in its heyday.
Northpark Mall is a super regional mall located in Joplin, Missouri. The mall opened in 1972 with 600,000 square feet, and featured 60 stores, restaurants, and other services. Today, the Northpark mall is 1,080,000 square feet, and features more than 100 inline tenants including a food court. Northpark Mall is the largest mall in the Joplin region and serves a trade area of nearly 500,000 people. Freeman hospital added a soft play area in the Macy's women's court in the summer of 2014. The mall was also the temporary home of the 11th and 12th grades of Joplin High School until August 2014, when the new high school was completed. Northpark Mall is managed by CBL & Associates Properties. The anchor stores are Vintage Stock, TJ Maxx, H&M, JCPenney, and Dunham's Sports. There are three vacant anchor stores that were once two Macy's stores and Sears.
Courtland Center, formerly Eastland Mall, is an enclosed shopping mall in Burton, Michigan, a suburb of Flint, Michigan, United States. It opened in 1968, two years before the larger Genesee Valley Center on the other side of the Flint metropolitan area. Courtland Center includes four anchor stores: JCPenney, Dunham's Sports, Staples, and Jo-Ann Etc., plus an exhibit space operated by Sloan Museum.
University Mall is a shopping mall in Carbondale, Illinois, United States. Opened in 1974, it originally featured JCPenney and Sears as its major anchor stores, the latter taking the place of a Britt's discount store which never opened for business. The mall received multiple expansions in the 1980s and 1990s, adding Meis, Venture Stores, and Famous-Barr. Sears moved to the then Illinois Centre Mall and was replaced by Montgomery Ward. Venture, Elder-Beerman, and Montgomery Ward all closed throughout the 1990s, with the former becoming K's Merchandise Mart until 2007, while Famous-Barr became Macy's in 2006. The mall has seen several closures in stores throughout the 21st century, including both Macy's and JCPenney. The Mall of Monroe, formerly known as Frenchtown Square Mall, is an enclosed shopping mall in Frenchtown Charter Township in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is located just north of the city of Monroe along North Monroe Street (M-125). Opened in 1988, the mall features more than thirty tenants and a church. The mall is managed by Cafaro Company of Youngstown, Ohio. The mall's anchor stores are Planet Fitness, Phoenix Theatres, and Domka Outdoors. Hampton Towne Centre, formerly Hampton Square Mall, was an enclosed shopping mall in Hampton Township, Michigan, just outside the city of Essexville, Michigan, United States. Built in 1975, the property became a dead mall following the closure of its anchor stores, and ultimately closed in 2010. The building, vacant except for a thrift store, an intermediate school district, and a Michigan Department of Human Services office, was owned by Art Dore who died November 2 of 2022.
