"Feel It" is a song by Italian musical group the Tamperer featuring Maya, released by various labels as the first single from their only album, Fabulous (1999). Produced by Falox, a production team that then consisted of Tamperer members Mario Fargetta and Alex Farolfi, the song is based on the Jacksons' 1981 hit "Can You Feel It" and quotes Heather Leigh West's lyrics from Urban Discharge's 1996 song "Wanna Drop a House." [1]
The song was a commercial success, reaching number one in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Wallonia region of Belgium. It also topped the Canadian RPM Dance/Urban chart, peaked at number two in Italy, and reached the top 10 in eight other countries, including France, Hungary, New Zealand, and Norway.
Producer Alex Farolfi went to Ibiza in the summer of 1997 and noticed that the crowd would go wild when a club DJ played "Can You Feel It". Mario Fargetta and Farolfi went together and made a version using a sample of the original by The Jacksons and tested it in Italian clubs. The track was so successful that the producers decided to re-record it properly. "Feel It" was released in May 1998 as the lead single from the group's debut album, Fabulous. Club remixes from British DJ-producer Sharp and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels caught the attention of DJ Pete Tong, who featured a different remix each Friday night for six weeks on his Essential Selection dance music show on CHR network BBC Radio 1 in the United Kingdom. Scottish Daily Record praised the song as "brilliant". [3] Pan-European magazine Music & Media commented, "This Italian production team consists of three producers from national CHR network Radio Deejay. DJ Fargetta, Alex Farolfi and Mentiroso use the talents of dance diva Maya as the icing on the cake, which has the Jacksons' "Can You Feel It" as its main ingredient." They also complimented it as a "incredibly catchy track". [4] A reviewer from Music Week said it "may lack credibility, but it's irritatingly catchy." [5] Chris Finan from the Record Mirror Dance Update gave "Feel It" three out of five, writing, "A bit of a love-it-or-hate-it one here. Pepper's first release sees a female vocal run over The Jacksons' "Can You Feel It" in as blatant a manner as possible. There are three mixes with little variation, relying on the said sample to do the damage. It's easy to see how the mainstream clubs are going to lap this up, and with apt radio support it could result in lots of copies going over the counter." [6]
"Feel It" was successful globally and remains the group's biggest hit. In Europe, it peaked at number one in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the Wallonia region of Belgium. [7] [8] [9] In the UK, it peaked during its sixth week on the UK Singles Chart, on 24 May 1998. [8] It also topped the UK Indie Chart, which tracks singles from independent record labels. [10] The single made it to the top 10 also in Denmark, Finland, Flanders, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, and Norway, as well as on the Eurochart Hot 100, where it rose to number two. [11] [12] [13] [14] [15] [16] It was a top-20 hit in Austria, Iceland, and Sweden and a top-40 hit in Germany and Switzerland. [11] [17] Outside Europe, "Feel It" reached number one on the RPM Dance chart in Canada, number four on the Billboard Dance Club Play chart in the United States, number 10 in New Zealand, and number 19 in Australia. A witty music video was produced for "Feel It", directed by director Daniel P. Siegler & Tracks. [26] It features singer Maya with three musicians with identical sunglasses and outfits in a room with red furnitures and curtains. In between, a story is being told of two women who arrive at a wharf in their car. They are going on a boat trip. Onboard they have drinks and flirt with the captain. Towards the end, the ladies go ashore with the captain by the arm. Then a man appears in an open car. Apparently it is the captain's lover. As the car with the two men drives off into the sunset, the two ladies faint from shock.

"Wicked Game" is a song by American rock musician Chris Isaak, released from his third album, Heart Shaped World (1989). Released as a single in July 1989, it became a sleeper hit after being featured in the 1990 David Lynch film Wild at Heart, starring Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern. Lee Chesnut, an Atlanta radio station music director who loved David Lynch films, began playing the song, and it quickly became an American top-10 hit in March 1991, reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100. Internationally, the single became a number-one hit in Belgium and reached the top 10 in several other nations.
"Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" is a song by American rock band the Offspring. It is the fourth track from the band's fifth studio album, Americana (1998), and was released as its first single in November 1998. The song peaked at number 53 on the US Billboard Hot 100, number five on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, and number three on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. It was successful internationally, reaching number one in 10 countries, including Australia, where it stayed at number one for six weeks and was certified quadruple platinum.
"Sing It Back" is a song written and performed by Irish-English electronic music duo Moloko. It first appeared in its original version on Moloko's second album, I Am Not a Doctor (1998); it was released as a single on 8 March 1999, reaching number 45 on the UK Singles Chart. The song experienced chart success after it was remixed by DJ Boris Dlugosch, peaking at number four in the UK in September 1999. Murphy had started writing the lyrics while clubbing in New York City, and knew the song was at heart a dance track, but the group wanted to record it in a different artistic fashion for its album version.
"King of My Castle" is a song by American electronic music producer Chris Brann under his Wamdue Project alias, with vocals by Gaelle Adisson. It was originally released in 1997 as a downtempo song but became a worldwide club hit in 1999 when it was remixed by Italian house producer Roy Malone and included on the 1998 album Program Yourself. "You Don't Know Me" is a song by American record producer Armand van Helden featuring vocals from American singer Duane Harden. It was released on January 25, 1999, as the lead single from his third studio album, 2 Future 4 U. The creation of the song came about when Helden created a looping track composed of several music samples and left Harden to write and record the lyrics alone.
"I Want You Back" is the debut solo single of British singer Melanie B, featuring American rapper Missy Elliott. It was released as a single from the soundtrack to the 1998 film Why Do Fools Fall in Love. After two years, the song was also included on Melanie B's debut album, Hot (2000). "I Want You Back" topped the UK Singles Chart on 20 September 1998.
"Thunder in My Heart" is a song by English-Australian singer Leo Sayer, from his fifth studio album, Thunder in My Heart (1977). The song was written by Sayer and Tom Snow, while produced by Richard Perry. It was released through Warner and Chrysalis Records in 1977, as the first single from the album. The disco song consists of a bassline and strings. "Thunder in My Heart" received generally positive reviews from music critics, who praised the production. It peaked at number 22 on the UK Singles Chart and at number 38 on the US Billboard Hot 100. A dance remix of the song by British disc jockey Meck titled "Thunder in My Heart Again" was released on 6 February 2006, and topped the UK Singles Chart.
"Believe" is a song by the American singer Cher, from her 22nd studio album, Believe (1998). It was released as the lead single on October 19, 1998, by Warner Bros. Records. After circulating for months, a demo written by Brian Higgins, Matthew Gray, Stuart McLennen and Timothy Powell, was submitted to Warner's chairman, Rob Dickins, while he was scouting for songs to include on Cher's new album. Aside from the chorus, Dickins was not impressed by the track so he enlisted two more writers, Steve Torch and Paul Barry to complete it. Cher contributed some lyrics but received no songwriting credit. Recording took place at Dreamhouse Studio in West London, while production was handled by Mark Taylor and Brian Rawling.
"Strong Enough" is a song by American recording artist Cher from her 22nd studio album, Believe (1998). The song was released as the second single from the album on February 22, 1999, by Warner Music. The song's composition and musical style is strongly reminiscent of 1970s disco music. The song received positive reviews from music critics, many calling it a highlight to Believe and comparing it to Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive". "Strong Enough" peaked at number 57 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Billboard Dance Club Play chart. "It Feels So Good" is a song by British singer Sonique. It was originally released on 9 November 1998 and peaked at number 24 on the UK Singles Chart. In May 2000, in the wake of the song's success in the United States, the single was re-released and spent three weeks at number one on the same chart. The song remained in the top 40 for 14 weeks and became the third-biggest-selling single of 2000 in Britain. It has sold over 800,000 copies in the UK as of May 2020.
"I Want You" is a song by Australian pop duo Savage Garden, originally released in Australia on 27 May 1996 as the lead single from their eponymous debut album, Savage Garden (1997). The single reached number one in Canada and peaked at number four in Australia and on the US Billboard Hot 100. Much of the song's chart success in the US was the result of Rosie O'Donnell playing the song on several episodes of The Rosie O'Donnell Show. In the United Kingdom, the single was issued twice, achieving its highest peak of number 11 during its initial release in 1997.
"Sky" is a song co-written and performed by British singer and DJ Sonique. It was released on 19 June 2000 as the third single from her debut studio album, Hear My Cry (2000), peaking at number two on the UK Singles Chart and number one in Croatia and Romania.
"Mysterious Times" is a song by German production group Sash! featuring British singer Tina Cousins. It was released on 1 August 1998 as the second single from their second album, Life Goes On (1998). The song peaked at number two in the United Kingdom, giving Sash! their fourth number-two single. In the United States, it peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart.
The Tamperer featuring Maya was an Italian dance music group consisting of Italian record producers Mario Fargetta and Alex Farolfi, and American singer Maya Days. Later, Giuliano Saglia and GianLuca Mensi would join the project. It achieved European success in 1998 with the chart-topping single "Feel It".
"C U When U Get There" is a song by American rapper Coolio featuring 40 Thevz. It was released in June 1997 as the first single from Coolio's third studio album, My Soul (1997). The track was also featured on the soundtrack to the 1997 comedy film Nothing to Lose. It heavily interpolates Johann Pachelbel's Baroque "Canon in D Major."
"Will 2K" is the second single taken from American rapper Will Smith's second studio album, Willennium (1999). The single was released on November 8, 1999. "Ecuador" is a song produced by German DJ and record production team Sash! featuring fellow German DJ Rodriguez. It was released in April 1997 by labels X-It, Mighty and Multiply Records as the third single from their debut album, It's My Life – The Album (1997). The song became an international hit, peaking at number one in Flanders, Romania and Scotland, as well as on the American and Canadian dance charts. It reached the top 20 in more than ten other countries worldwide. The song's music video was directed by Oliver Sommer and filmed in Spain.
"Stay" is a song by German DJ/production team Sash! featuring American singer La Trec. It was released on 26 September 1997 by Mighty and Multiply as the fourth and final single from their debut album, It's My Life – The Album (1997). The song was written by Franky McCoy, Ralf Kappmeier, Sascha Lappessen and Thomas Allison, and topped the dance charts in both Canada and the United States. It also reached the top 20 in more than 10 European countries, Australia, and New Zealand. On the Eurochart Hot 100, "Stay" peaked at number six and in the UK, it was Sash!'s third consecutive number-two single. The music video for the song was directed by Oliver Sommer. In 1998, DJ Magazine included "Stay" in their list of "Top 100 Club Tunes".
"If You Buy This Record (Your Life Will Be Better)" (also titled without the parentheses) is a song by Italian music group the Tamperer featuring Maya. The song samples American singer Madonna's 1985 hit "Material Girl", which was the first time she allowed another artist to sample her music. It was released in Europe on 2 November 1998 and reached number three on the UK Singles Chart six days later. It also peaked within the top 10 in Denmark, Finland, Ireland and Italy. In the United States and Canada, the single was issued in 1999, becoming a dance hit in both countries.
"Hammer to the Heart" is the third single released by Italian dance music group the Tamperer featuring Maya. The track samples the synthesizer riff from Swedish pop group ABBA's 1979 song "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! ". "Hammer to the Heart" was released on 31 January 2000 as the group's first standalone single and their last release until the 2009 remix of their 1998 hit, "Feel It". The song became the group's third top-10 single in the United Kingdom, reaching number six on the UK Singles Chart, and entered the top 30 in Ireland and Sweden, peaking at number 23 in both nations.
