Gravity is the tenth studio album release by the Irish boy band Westlife and it was released on 22 November 2010 in the United Kingdom. John Shanks produced each song,barring the bonus track on the Japanese edition. The album was preceded by the lead single,"Safe",which was released on 14 November 2010.
This is the group's final album under Syco Music,as well as their final album before their initial split in 2012. As of November 2011,the album had sold 358,943 copies in the UK. [11]
The recording process for the album started in July 2010;its recording and mixing was finished in October 2010. They recorded the songs in Los Angeles,California,Dublin,Ireland,and London,England.
On 19 July 2010,it was reported by RTÉ that the group would work with producer John Shanks. [12] Westlife told Digital Spy :"We'd wanted to work with him for a long time,but all his loyalty was to Take That and he didn't want to work with another boyband." [13] On 17 September 2010,Egan said that the first single for the album was picked by Cowell and a 30-second snippet was played on X Factor UK. [14] On 1 November 2010,Mark confirmed two cover songs on the album are "Chances" by Athlete and "The Reason" by Hoobastank.
On 22 October 2010,the band released a video of the album photo shoot on their official sites. [15] The official photographer of the shoot was Kevin McDaid and Feehily as the creative director. [16]
On 13 October 2010,they announced the album title Gravity and trended worldwide on Twitter as #westlifegravity after the announcement. [17] The album title was suggested by a fan. [18]
"Safe" was the lead single from the album, released on 14 November in the UK. Their debut performance of the track was on the X Factor the day or release. It peaked at No. 10 in its first week consequently making it their lowest charting lead single to date in the UK, as well as their lowest sales for a lead single.[ citation needed ]
It was later confirmed on 1 February 2011 that there would be no second single for Gravity. Byrne stated that it was Syco's decision. [19] On 14 March 2011, Westlife confirmed that they had left Syco Music and moved to another Sony division, RCA, with the group citing the decision not to release a second single as the reason. [20]
"I Will Reach You" was released as a promotional single on 17 February 2011 in Indonesia, Ireland, and the Philippines. [21]

Westlife are an Irish pop group formed in Dublin in 1998. The group consists of members Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan, and Nicky Byrne. Brian McFadden was a member before leaving in March 2004. The group disbanded in 2012 and later reunited in 2018.
Brian Nicholas McFadden is an Irish pop singer and television presenter. He rose to fame in 1998 as a member of the Irish boy band Westlife. Following his departure from the group in 2004, McFadden released his debut solo album, Irish Son. He has since released four studio albums: Set in Stone, Wall of Soundz, The Irish Connection, and Otis.
Face to Face is the sixth studio album by Irish boy band Westlife, released in the UK on 31 October 2005.
Irish boy band Westlife have released twelve studio albums, sixteen video albums, one live album, three karaoke albums, thirty-eight singles, twenty-one promotional singles, nine compilation albums and fifty-four music videos. Formed on 3 July 1998, the group was made up of singers Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan, and Brian McFadden. Based on the British Phonographic Industry certifications, the group have sold more than 32 million records and videos in the United Kingdom alone across their 20-year career–8.8 million singles, 12.5 million albums and 1.5 million videos. Their biggest selling album is their first Greatest Hits compilation, followed by Coast to Coast, with seven of their albums selling one million copies or more. Their biggest selling video is "Where Dreams Come True", which has sold 240,000 copies to date.

Back Home is the eighth studio album by Irish boy band Westlife, released on 5 November 2007 through Syco Music, Sony Music and RCA Records. The album was produced by Steve Mac, Quiz & Larossi, Per Magnusson, David Kreuger and Rami Yacoub, who also produced some of the group's previous material. Back Home was the group's final album before their temporary break from music in 2008.

He was also the winner of the second series of Popstar to Operastar in 2011 and the first series of The Jump in 2014. In 2015, McElderry played the lead role of Joseph in the touring production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. In 2022, McElderry performed his Freedom Tour, a tribute to George Michael.

Greatest Hits is the second greatest hits album release by Irish boy band Westlife. It was released on 18 November 2011 by RCA Records and Sony Music. Greatest Hits follows their previous compilation Unbreakable: The Greatest Hits Volume 1 (2002) and was their last before their split in the months following its release. The album is the group's first album not under Syco Music and not under the tutelage of Simon Cowell, having left Syco and Cowell in March 2011. The album contains 14 singles spanning throughout the band's career and 4 new songs produced by John Shanks. The standard edition of the album contains eighteen tracks; an expanded deluxe edition features a bonus disc and a DVD containing nearly all of the band's music videos up to that point. The album's lead single "Lighthouse" was released on 14 November 2011.
