Westlife is the debut studio album by Irish boy band Westlife. The album was released on 1 November 1999 through RCA. The album spawned the five UK number-one hit singles "Swear It Again","If I Let You Go","Flying Without Wings",the double A-side "I Have a Dream"/"Seasons in the Sun",and "Fool Again".
Westlife signed to RCA in November 1998 and immediately flew to Stockholm to commence recording their debut album. Their lead single "Swear It Again" was released in April 1999. Two further singles followed and the album was released in November 1999. [4] The album's standard edition features 17 tracks,while the band said they had recorded 22 songs for their debut album. [5]
For North America,Westlife signed to Arista Records after auditioning for the label's founder,Clive Davis. [6] Westlife released "Swear It Again" as their debut there on 7 March 2000. The album was released on 4 April 2000 with an altered track listing that included the new song,"My Private Movie". [6]
A documentary video album related to the release,entitled "The Westlife Story",was released in October 2000,peaking at number 15 on the UK Visual Chart. The release,available in VHS and DVD,tells the story of how the five members became Westlife,the recording of their first album,and includes their then 4 music videos. On 26 June 2000,the DVD was re-released,containing all their then 6 music videos,and on 18 November 2002,it was included in the five disc box set entitled Westlife:The Complete Story.
All five singles from the album peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart in less than a year. Despite this,however,the album itself entered and peaked at number two,beaten by Steptacular by Steps.[ citation needed ] The album was the biggest chart dropper on the top 40 in UK music history when,in its 58th week on the charts it leapt from No. 79 to No. 3 before falling to No. 37 the following week. [7] In Scotland,the album peaked at No. 1 years after its release in 2001 after originally peaking at No. 6 on the Scottish Charts in 1999. [8] The album also peaked at number 1 in Ireland [9] and 15 in Australia.
The album became the eighth best-selling album of 1999 in the United Kingdom and was certified 5×Platinum. [10] The album spent seventy-four weeks in the UK Top 100. [11] Westlife is the best-selling international album ever in Indonesia and the Philippines,receiving 20×platinum certifications for over 1 million copies sold in Indonesia and 25×Platinum certifications for over 500,000 units sold in the Philippines. In 2000,the album was released in the United States and debuted at number 2 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers and peaked at 129 on the Billboard 200.

No Angel is the debut studio album by English singer-songwriter Dido. Originally released on 1 June 1999 in the United States, the album found a mass audience when it was released worldwide in February 2001. By 2003, the album had sold more than 15 million copies worldwide, and was the second best-selling album of the 2000s in the United Kingdom, behind James Blunt's Back to Bedlam.
Sing When You're Winning is the third studio album by English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams. It was released on 28 August 2000 in the United Kingdom by Chrysalis Records and in the United States by Capitol Records. Following the critical and commercial success of I've Been Expecting You (1998), the North American release of The Ego Has Landed (1999) and the subsequent promotional tours for both albums, Williams reteamed with producers Guy Chambers and Steve Power to create new material for his next record. Whereas I've Been Expecting You used the Britpop genre for its overall sound, Sing When You're Winning incorporates a more post-millennial dance-pop approach while utilizing classic British rock elements.

Believe is the twenty-second studio album by American singer and actress Cher, released on October 22, 1998, by WEA and Warner Bros. Records. Following the commercial disappointment of her previous studio album It's a Man's World (1995), her record company encouraged her to record a dance-oriented album, in order to move into a more mainstream sound. Cher started working on the album in the spring of 1998 with British producers Mark Taylor and Brian Rawling at the Dreamhouse Studios in London. The album was dedicated to her former husband Sonny Bono, who had died earlier that year.

Unbreakable – The Greatest Hits Volume 1 is the first greatest hits album by Irish boy band Westlife. The album was released on 11 November 2002. The album consists of all of the group's past singles along with six new songs. Hit single "Flying Without Wings" was re-recorded as a duet with South Korean singer BoA and Mexican singer Cristian Castro, and each respective duet was included on the Asian and Spanish editions of the album respectively. The first single released from the album was "Unbreakable", a UK number-one single. The second single, the double A-side "Tonight" / "Miss You Nights" peaked at number three in the UK and at number one in Ireland.

Formed on 3 July 1998, the group was made up of singers Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan, and Brian McFadden. The band was signed under Simon Cowell, Clive Davis, and Jordan Jay and under record labels' BMG, S Records, Arista Records, Sony BMG, Syco Music, Sony Music Entertainment and RCA Records from 1998 to 2012 and currently on Universal Music Group and Virgin EMI Records from 2018. The last four members remained active until their last live concert performance in the Europe's third largest stadium Croke Park on 23 June 2012 and have reunited on 3 October 2018 for new music and tour. Based on the British Phonographic Industry certifications, the group have sold more than 32 million records and videos in the United Kingdom alone across their 20-year career–8.8 million singles, 12.5 million albums and 1.5 million videos. Their biggest selling album is their first Greatest Hits compilation, followed by Coast to Coast, with seven of their albums selling one million copies or more. The Platinum Collection: Greatest Hits I, II & III is a box set by British rock band Queen which comprises their three greatest hits albums, Greatest Hits, Greatest Hits II and Greatest Hits III. The album was originally released on 13 November 2000 on the Parlophone label. A booklet with song facts and images is also included with the three CD set. The US release was delayed by Hollywood Records until September 2002 and featured the 2001 Japanese release remastered versions of Greatest Hits Volumes 1 and 2 on the US and Canadian versions of The Platinum Collection. The album peaked at number 2 in the UK.
The Singapore Phonogram Videogram Association (SPVA) said Westlife's debut sold over 93,000 copies, making it the No. 1 album in the Top 10 English
