Isparta is a city in western Turkey. It is the seat of Isparta Province and Isparta District. Its population is 247,580 (2022). Its elevation is 1035 m. It is known as the "City of Roses". Isparta is well-connected to other parts of Turkey via roads. Antalya lies 130 km to the south and Eskişehir is 350 km to the north. Süleyman Demirel University has introduced thousands of youths from varied backgrounds to the city's mostly conservative fabric in recent years. The city's football team, Ispartaspor, plays in Group 7 of the Turkish Regional Amateur League.

The Yivli Minaret Mosque, also known as the Alaaddin Mosque or simply Grand Mosque, in Antalya is a historical mosque built by the Anatolian Seljuk Sultan Kayqubad I. It is part of a külliye which includes the Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev Medrese, Seljuk and Dervish lodge, and the vaults of Zincirkıran and Nigar Hatun. The mosque is located in Kaleiçi along Cumhuriyet Caddesi, next to Kalekapısı Meydanı. The mosque's fluted minaret called the Yivli Minare, which is decorated with dark blue tiles, is a landmark and symbol of the city. In 2016 it was inscribed in the Tentative list of World Heritage Sites in Turkey.

At the 2013 reorganisation part of the former central district of Malatya Province was added to the district. It covers the eastern part of the agglomeration of Malatya and the adjacent countryside. Yağ Cami is a historical mosque located in the old town of Adana, Turkey. The structure was originally built as the Surp Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church at the second half of the 13th century during the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia. It was converted into a mosque in c.1380 by the Ramazanoğlu Bey Şihabeddin Ahmed, just after taking over the city. It is the oldest mosque in the city and later on formed part of the külliye that also includes a madrasah.

The Friday Mosque or Dzhumaya Mosque is located in Plovdiv, Plovdiv Province, Bulgaria. Its Turkish name is Hüdavendigâr Camii or Cuma Camii. The mosque is located in the centre of Plovdiv and was built in 1363–1364 on the site of the Sveta Petka Tarnovska Cathedral Church after the conquest of Plovdiv by the Ottoman army. During the reign of Sultan Murad I in the 15th century the old building was demolished and replaced by the modern-day mosque. It was called Ulu Dzhumaya Mosque, or Main Friday Mosque.
On 27 April 2016, a suicide bombing took place in the Turkish city of Bursa. The bombing took place at 17:26 (UTC+3), near the western entrance of the Grand Mosque and a covered market. One person, the suicide bomber, was killed and 13 people were injured. The injured people received only light injuries. Extensive damage to nearby shops and cafes was reported.
